【UNIVERSITY of CREATIVITY】 Creativity Seminar “AI x Manga Seminar” Established, Enrollment Now Open
UNIVERSITY of CREATIVITY Press release: October 28, 2025 Creativity Seminar “AI x Manga Seminar” Established, Enrollment Now Open In an age where anyone can create “manga-like images,” what will you draw as your “artwork”? Submission deadline is Tuesday, November 4th! UNIVERSITY of CREATIVITY
(hereinafter referred to as UoC) is a next-generation platform for researching, teaching, and implementing creativity, transcending age and occupation, based on the philosophy, “We are All Born Creative.” UoC has launched a new creativity seminar, “AI x Manga Seminar: In an age where anyone can create manga, what do you want to draw? What do you draw?,” based on the research theme “Where is creativity in the age of AI?” This seminar is now accepting applications. In an age where images can be easily generated using AI, this seminar provides a practical opportunity to elevate manga into a “work of art” rather than simply a series of creations, based on the “grammar of
manga”—such as narrative, time direction, and panel layout. The event will be held six times on Thursday evenings (7:00 PM – 9:00 PM). After the final presentation of participants’ original work, participants will submit their finished works in PDF format and have them compiled into a booklet (the event will not be held online, and the schedule is subject to change).

In recent years, the spread of generative AI has made it possible for anyone to create “manga-like” images in a short amount of time. However, to create a “work” with a specific purpose, based on the unique manga grammar of “telling a story using pictures and dialogue while controlling the timeline,” a systematic process is required, including name planning, defining the theme/scenario, and drawing strategy (using human and AI drawing methods). This seminar aims to traverse the manga production process from the perspectives of research, education, and implementation, with the participation of a team of catalysts (lecturers) active at the forefront of manga production, including Professor Ume Ozawa Takahiro, who will be the overall supervisor and catalyst (lecturer) for three sessions, and to teach students the specific steps to “not just create but turn it into a work of art.” ■Program schedule times Date/Time Title Catalyst (Lecturer) ※Title omitted 1 2025/11/13 (Thu) 19:00 – 21:00 AI x manga overall theory Ume Takahiro Ozawa 2 Thursday, November 27, 2025, 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM “Name” ~The Core of Human Creativity~ Ume Takahiro Ozawa 3 2025/12/11 (Thu) 19:00 – 9:00 PM “Theme/Scenario” ~What to draw?
