Wonder Festival, the world’s largest sculpture and figure festival (sponsored by the Wonder Festival Executive Committee/Kaiyodo Co., Ltd.), is pleased to announce a collaboration with MomoCon, North America’s largest pop culture event focusing on anime, games, and comics, to be held in North America for the first time in May 2026. “Overseas Wonder Festival” Takes to a New Stage “Wonder Festival,” a global festival of figurines, garage kits, and models, began as a way for professionals and amateurs alike to bring their own carefully crafted kits to exhibit and sell, showcasing their creative talents to the world. What originally began as a small, handcrafted event has now grown into a large-scale event that attracts over 30,000 people in a single day. Its popularity has not been limited to Japan, with Wonder Festival 2024 in Bangkok being held in Bangkok, Thailand in August 2024, Wonder Festival 2025 in Korea in August 2025, and Wonder Festival 2025 in Shanghai in Shanghai, China in October of the same year. It has also attracted many participants overseas as an event that brings together creators of diverse styles. As a new initiative, Wonder Festival will be held in the United States for the first time in its history, as “Wonder Festival at MomoCon” (Wonder Festival in U.S.A.). We aim to connect the art and creative cultures of Japan and America, and to become a new international creative forum that directly connects fans and creators in both countries. An anticipated collaboration with “MomoCon” MomoCon will celebrate its 21st year in 2026, and is one of the largest events in the United States, with an expected attendance of over 60,000 unique attendees and a total of over 150,000 attendees. The venue spans approximately 65,000 square meters, generating more than $43 million in economic impact for the city of Atlanta, with a 90% repeat exhibitor rate. MomoCon, which began at Georgia Tech and has grown in scale, still attracts many general exhibitors, and this collaboration was born out of the shared feeling between the two. Atlanta, where MomoCon will be held, is a transportation hub in the southeastern United States, making it easily accessible from overseas.
