NTT Docomo Business releases its first TV commercial since its name change! NTT DOCOMO, INC. Press Release: October 29, 2025 Abe Sadao and Matsu Takako, well-known for playing a married couple, appear together in a commercial for the first time, becoming business partners! NTT Docomo Business releases its first TV commercial since its name change! In the interview, Abe said, “When we walked together, the director told me not to get too close,” and Matsu said, “We’d played married couples before, so it was difficult to get the right distance between us,” describing their roles as “fresh.” NTT Docomo Business, Inc. (formerly NTT
Communications Corporation, hereinafter referred to as NTT Docomo Business) will begin airing its new TV commercial, “DX that Cares for People,” featuring actors Sadao Abe and Takako Matsu nationwide from Saturday, November 1st, in conjunction with its company name change on July 1st, 2025. On July 1, 2025, NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS changed its name from NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com) and embarked on a new chapter as the NTT Group’s comprehensive ICT business for businesses. Aiming to become a “platformer for industrial and regional digital transformation” that supports an autonomous, decentralized, and collaborative society, we will add mobile and software capabilities to provide even more advanced, valuable solutions in one stop, not only to large corporations but also to small and medium-sized businesses nationwide. In the new corporate TV commercial, “DX that Cares for People,” Takako Matsu, who plays an NTT Docomo Business salesperson, visits Sadao Abe, who plays a manufacturing company executive, and discusses her desire to make the world a happier place through DX. This is the first time Matsu and Abe have appeared together in a commercial, and it’s a highlight to see them taking on the
unprecedented roles of a salesperson and an executive, two
business-related roles.

NTT Communications!” Mr. Matsu bowed and replied with a smile, “No… I’ve just changed.” Mr. Abe mistakenly thought that Mr. Matsu had changed his image and asked, “What… your hairstyle?” Mr. Matsu replied, “No, it’s not…” as he pulled out a business card from his breast pocket. The scene changes to the factory. “What? The company name changed?!” Abe exclaims in surprise, perplexed. “Why did it change? I thought the previous name suited me better.” Seeing this, Matsu begins, “Um…” and begins to explain, using an analogy. “Is it like a yellowtail turning into a buri?!” Matsu asks, to which Abe replies, confused, “What? It’s getting bigger.” Matsu then pulls out a rook from his breast pocket and continues, “Or like a rook turning into a dragon king?!” Abe laughs wryly and mutters, “I’m carrying it around with me…”

They spend precious time in their lives, and sometimes they sacrifice something. That’s why we want to make people in every industry and region of this country happier through DX.” Then, a little embarrassed, he asked Abe, “Is it wrong to dream like that?” On the way to the factory gate, Abe showed Matsu a photo of himself with his brother, who worked at NTT, on his smartphone, saying, “My brother said the same thing.” Matsu muttered, “Hehe, we’re the same,” and Abe looked deeply moved. Matsu then said, “Face.” Surprised, Abe retorted, “Face?” When Matsu asks, “Are you twins?”, Abe replies with a laugh, “No, we’re two years apart. We have long faces…” Finally, the video closes with the phrase “DX that cares for people” followed by the “NTT Docomo Business” logo.

The sense of distance between them, apart from their roles as a married couple, is so refreshing it’s like meeting a different person. When Abe said, “The script is digital,” Matsu immediately chimed in, saying, “It’s on paper, like, 1-2 weeks before…” Q. Please tell us your impressions of today’s commercial shoot. Matsu: This is the first time we’ve worked together on a commercial. Abe: It feels completely different, like I’m meeting a different person. Matsu: It felt like we were meeting for the first time, even though we’d been together so long (laughs) Abe: But, you know, he told me not to get too close when we were walking together. That’s what he told me (the director). Matsu: I was told that, but since we were playing a married couple, it was a little difficult to maintain a sense of distance. Abe: This time, we were doing it for business reasons. That was difficult, though. Q. You two often co-star as a married couple, but this time you played different roles. What were your impressions of each other? Abe: I’ve really played a lot of married couple roles, so this is actually quite refreshing. Matsu: It was really refreshing. Abe: We don’t really have any business associates. Matsu: Not really, really. Abe: It was a strange feeling. (Looking at Takako Matsu) He’s a client, right? Because. Matsu: That’s right. (Looking at Sadao Abe) He’s the president, after all. Abe: I never expected to receive a business card from Matsu. Matsu: That’s true, normally the order would be reversed, but they’ve gone too far with the couple thing. Abe: It’s refreshing. I hope customers see it that way too. Matsu: I hope you enjoy it… Abe: I wonder what’s going to happen? Matsu: From now on? Is there something coming? Again? Abe: No, let’s not do that. I’d be really shocked if it didn’t happen. What kind of relationship do you want to have as a couple in the future? Matsu: We’re a married couple, we’re business partners, what else…? Abe: Like brothers? Matsu: Brothers! We’re not related by blood! Do you think I should mention the offer for our next commercial here (in an interview)? Abe: Oh man… I’d love to! Matsu: So you say that (laughs) Thank you very much! Abe: Well, if you’re asked, you have to answer. Matsu: So we’re not related by blood! Abe: We haven’t done it yet! Q. The commercial expresses the company’s further evolution with the change in name, but have you personally experienced any “evolution” recently? Abe: For me, it’s “from paper to data.” Scripts and things like that are usually handed out on paper, right? But, well, everyone on set was looking at tablets, and I was wondering about that too, but as I started looking at them on tablets, I gradually started to get used to it. My brain was trained to memorize things on paper, but when I switched my brain to the tablet, I was basically sent the script and other things as digital data…

I thought you were my friend (lol). What happened? In the last week or two… Abe: Surprisingly, humans evolve in just a week or two. Matsu: Oh, I see. Abe: It’s a waste of paper to have to go through the script every single time. If you put it on a tablet, it’s quicker to erase. Matsu: I’ll keep pursuing it, a little more. I need to evolve… I steam it. (laughs) Abe: Steam it? (laughs) What kind of evolution is that? Matsu: I’ve been enjoying steaming lately. Abe: After grilling, you steam it? Matsu: I like grilling too. I like it, but steaming everything makes it taste better! Vegetables, meat, and fish too! I’m obsessed with it, and when I’m stuck, I just look through what’s in the fridge. Steaming. Abe: Shall we steam it? Matsu: Steam it! Steam it! It’ll warm you up and give you some moisture. Abe: If you just steam it, it won’t have any flavor, right? Should I add salt or something? Matsu: Like salt or miso. Abe: It’s healthy, and it removes the oil. Matsu: It’s great when you’re in a pinch. It was a hot summer, so it absorbed moisture and made the fish plump up, so I could eat fish. I don’t know if I can call it evolution (lol), but “steaming” has evolved in a more widespread way! Abe: I honestly didn’t plan it, but I made steamed food yesterday. Really. I used cabbage, lotus root, pork, carrots, and ponzu sauce! Matsu: Wow, that’s amazing! It’s the best! I think I’ll keep steaming them too. If I’m in a pinch, I’ll steam them! Abe: That’s a good improvement. (By the way, do you have any favorite steamed dishes?) Matsu: If you steam fish with vegetables, it’s easy for kids who don’t like vegetables, etc. Even if you’re having trouble eating fish, a little steaming will help. Food is so good. Even shiitake mushrooms are quite delicious when steamed. Grilling them is delicious, but with mushrooms now in season, steaming them is also highly recommended. Abe: Wow. This is an NTT commercial, right? Isn’t it okay to talk about food? Matsu: Sorry (laughs) Q. The tagline “Make people happier with DX” is a key point, but could you tell us specifically when you feel “happy”? Matsu: Are there times when you feel happy? Abe: I do acting, so when the audience says things like, “That was great,” When people tell me they were “encouraged,” I feel really happy and glad that I’m doing it! Matsu: I guess I feel the same way. Surprisingly, rather than seeing that kind of reaction firsthand, I hear things like, “It seems so,” or, “Someone somewhere is enjoying it and feeling happy,” or, “It seems like they’ve become more energetic.” I often hear about it through word of mouth, but I wonder if it would have been good to hear about things like that here and there. While doing it. It wasn’t a big happiness, but more like, “Oh, thank goodness!” or “I wonder if everything was okay.” It’s a small happiness, but a lovely one. Abe: It would be great to meet you again on this set, Matsu-san. Matsu: Well, yes, it was a bit of a dangerous situation (laughs) Abe: (laughs) Matsu: Well, I ended up talking about food… Abe: Just cut it out! I hope we can meet again in a sequel or something! Matsu: That would be great, but what do you think…? Abe: (laughs) Matsu: (Staff) We shouldn’t make them worry like that. We’re doing this as if it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! Abe: As expected! (Gestures to the large number of staff members in front of him) You’ve all been watching a lot. Matsu: But it’s good to see you again!幸せです(笑) ■撮影メイキング URL:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EorJMc_cXqc
