In 1995, she received the 6th Goto Memorial Cultural Award for New Opera Artists. That same year, she made her European debut singing Zerbinetta in “Ariadne auf Naxos” under the baton of Christian Thielemann at the Rheinsberg Festival, a renowned gateway for new talent. She won first prize at the 3rd Queen Sonia of Norway International Music Competition. Since then, she has based herself in Germany, appearing in numerous operas at opera houses and festivals across Europe, including the Saxon State Opera and the Komische Oper Berlin. In Japan, she has also appeared as a soloist at the New National Theatre, Suntory Hall Opera, and regular performances by major orchestras. He is a director of Tokyo Opera NEXT. He supports young singers, produces opera performances with commentary, and is actively involved in promoting opera. He is also a member of the Rossini Association steering committee.

After winning numerous awards as a solo pianist, he went on to study under Leonard Schur at the New England Conservatory in Boston. He showed an interest in song accompaniment early in his career and has since expanded internationally in this field. He has accompanied recitals at venues such as the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Wigmore Hall, the Konzerthaus Berlin, and the Bergen Festival. With Norwegian baritone Per Vollestad, he has released a CD of songs by Schubert, Schumann, Wolf, and others on SIMAX Classics. He has also recorded numerous works by Norwegian and Scandinavian composers, including Grieg, Sinding, Nyström, and Tveit, and is dedicated to promoting Nordic music. He has performed regularly with Akemi Amano in recitals since 1995. He also taught lieder accompaniment at the Norwegian Academy of Music, mentoring the next generation of musicians. He has also given master classes at the Mendelssohn Conservatory in Leipzig and the Liszt Academy in Weimar.
