Tourism and industry, as well as daily life, have become central to people’s lives and have connected the region. The Shipbuilding and Ironworks Festival is more than just an event; it is a festival that unites the region, industry, and people. Led by Onomichi’s local industries, the festival aims to rediscover the appeal of industry by sharing the current state of the workplace with local children and visitors, and to foster hope for the future by unraveling the origins of the local maritime industry.
