Alfrex Japan (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Taku Hoshina) will be holding an exhibition of works by Kyoko Tanno, “Grass, Trees, and Me,” at Alfrex Osaka from Thursday, November 20th to Tuesday, December 9th. The “LIFE with ART project” proposes a comfortable relationship between art and interior design. Arflex Osaka will exhibit and sell works by Kyoka Tanno, an artist known for her numerous book covers and illustrations. The bold designs, reminiscent of papercuts and woodblock prints, are painted with a brush using black acrylic paint. The patterns and shapes, which have a somewhat ethnic nuance, combine strength with the unique fluidity of

When you feel depressed, you may feel an overwhelming desire to come into contact with greenery. Perhaps it’s because their breathing reminds you to simply breathe. When you are immersed in nature, you feel as if your boundaries are melting away. At that moment, a fragment of a time different from your own flows in. In this exhibition, through the shift in color from light green to black, I attempt to depict a quiet fluctuation that blurs the boundaries between the body and nature, the inner and the outer world.
