“Complement” T-Shirt The complement of a set appears in mathematics. “When a ‘whole’ is determined, if you extract a specific element A from it and collect all the remaining elements, it is called the ‘complement of A.'” This methodology, not featured in the exhibition, resulted in a graphic design that embodies the most mathematical and “Masahiko Sato-esque approach” of this collaboration. The 21-letter alphabet is arranged in a layout reminiscent of inlettering (instant lettering) using the widely used Roman font “Helvetica.” What is the complement of the graphic extracted from the 26 characters?
