The Nagasaki Museum of History and Culture will celebrate its 20th anniversary on November 3, 2025. When the museum first opened, it housed approximately 48,000 items transferred from the Nagasaki City Museum, Nagasaki Prefectural Museum of Art and History, and the Nagasaki Prefectural Nagasaki Library Local History Division. By 2024, this number had grown to 84,950. This “History Collection” includes newly acquired materials, as well as materials that have been restored or exhibited at other museums.
