Kosakai Kazuki, who has been active since his debut at “Ginza NOW” in 1977, recently held a live concert at Cotton Club again this year, following on from last year. The 70-minute set featured original songs, standards, Showa-era pop, and even tap dancing, with plenty of impersonations and plenty of talking between songs. Titled “SING SING SING & TALK,” the set also featured a “SING SING & TALK” performance. During the set, he announced the release of a digital album to mark his milestone birthday, his 70th birthday on January 3rd of next year. The album includes eight tracks, including seven previously unreleased tracks from his repertoire of over 100 songs, and one indie release, marking his next step. All of the songs are masterpieces created in collaboration with top-notch writers such as the Kisugi siblings, EPO, and Tetsuji Hayashi. In addition, this album also includes a previously unreleased self-cover of “Tonight, I Want to Be a Boy,” the theme song for the 1988 TBS drama “Like a Star in the Sky,” starring Sakai. This special release features a revival of the indie release featuring Sakai’s close friend, Keiko Toda. “Sing, dance, and make people laugh” – Japan’s top entertainer, Kosaka Kazuki, is known for his work.
