(Tokyo/Representative: Takeshi Umemura) will hold the “Japan Support Festival 2025 – The Opening of the Rock Cave of the Future,” an immersive mythological festival in Shibuya on Monday, December 8, 2025. All participants will become “gods” and become involved in the story. Yukari Akakai, an actress who performs the Kojiki around the world, will appear as a modern-day “depressed Amaterasu” and attempt to open the “rock door of the heart” through the performers’ singing, acting, rakugo, and sumo, as well as the participants’ interactions. ◼️Introduction movie ▶︎https:// ■Japan Support Festival ~Opening the Rock Door of the Future~ A New Form of Education and Entertainment In modern Japan, there are 1.46 million hikikomori (social recluses), and the youth suicide rate is among the highest in developed countries. It feels as though the country’s innate potential is dormant. Why has this happened? How can we break out of this stagnation? In this era in which the number of people feeling “difficult to live” is rapidly increasing, we are holding this event with the hope of sharing the realization that “you can be someone’s light” through the power of entertainment. This event is based on the “Ama-no-Iwato Opening Myth” from the Kojiki, which tells the story of opening up the future with a spirit of enjoyment and playfulness. It is an experiential performance in which 100 audience members act as “eight million gods” and cheer each other on. The modern-day Amaterasu (Akai Yukari), who has closed her heart, will be saved through the power of song, laughter, and prayers from the performers and participants. There will be no audience seats. Everyone will sit on the “sacred throne” and participate as “stakeholders” who move the story forward.
