Rifu Town’s new autumn tradition, the “Rifu Umauma Festival,” will be held for the first time at Jufu no Sato Park on Sunday, November 9, 2025. Based on the three meanings of the word “uma” (horse), “delicious,” “skillful,” and “horse,” this is Rifu Town’s largest multi-purpose event, bringing together the town’s food, skills, people, culture, and history. ■ A festival brought together by local residents, connecting the history of the post town with the present Rifu Town once flourished as a post town, supporting culture and the flow of people. The purpose of this festival is to connect that history with the aspirations of people living today and connect it to the future. As a “townspeople-participation festival” created in collaboration with the town, the Regional Revitalization Support Team, and townspeople, it brings together people of all ages and
backgrounds, fostering new appeal for Rifu Town.

The “Yagura Stage” will liven up the venue with a variety of events, including “Mai Mai Time” by popular YouTubers “Buyer Takahashi” and “DJ Nemoto.” The event will be hosted by “Opapa-san,” a familiar face from “Renorera TV”! In addition, the Rifu Sports Yabusame Tournament will be held, a modern take on the traditional Yabusame. You can enjoy the impressive gallops of professional archers and the moment they hit the target up close.

Each tour explores the charms of Rifu Town from a different perspective, with themes of history, culture, and town development. One of these tours, “Tosando and Suya Station – An Invitation to Ancient Rifu,” will be held on the same day as the event, and participants will walk while imagining the location of the ancient Suya Station and the route of the Tosando road. This tour is a collaborative project between Tanko Kanari General Incorporated Association and the Rifu Town Regional
Revitalization Team. It is a special monitor tour where you can experience the “story of the town” that connects the past, present, and future. Tour participants can also enjoy a yabusame experience after the tour (if they wish).
