The WHATAWON ART WALL PROJECT, an art project organized by WHATAWON, a residential entertainment mall in Kishiwada, Osaka, is finally holding its third event. This live art project features young artists freely decorating the “WWW” monument towering in the center of the facility. It began in 2023 as an initiative to connect people with the community through art and expand creative spaces. This third event will be even more free-spirited and bold. “Your colors” will repaint the town’s symbol.
■ “The moment of drawing changes the town” From “art to look at” to “art to feel.” The “WHATAWON ART WALL PROJECT” is an initiative to create new landscapes in local areas through the power of art. In the first and second projects, young artists used their individual sensibilities to decorate the giant monument “WWW.” The production process and the finished works became popular photo spots for visitors to capture. ▼ Photos of past events One of the great attractions of this project is the live feeling of being able to see the moment of production up close. New interactions born through art have gradually changed the landscape of Watawan.
