20 years ago in July 2002, the “EDOROCK MUSIC & ART FESTIVAL” began with an event where everyone drew a picture on a large canvas in the background music of 6 DJs. Revival. With the support of many companies and individuals so far, more than 100 groups of artists and shops have participated, and the total number of visitors has exceeded 10,000, expanding the scale of the event to represent Ichikawa City and Edogawa. I was.
In November 2020, due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, in addition to the venue on the riverbed of Edogawa, online tools such as live video distribution on YouTube and radio broadcasting by Ichikawa Urara FM were used. We also took on the challenge of holding about 70 stores as satellite venues through trial and error in line with the times.
This year, the 8th in total, will be reborn as “EDOROCK Kawamu -River Museum-“, where you can experience art, with an emphasis on art, so that you can get close to everyone’s hearts. became.
At this event, looking at the Edogawa riverbed decorated with art, some people will realize the beauty and benefits of the river once again. In addition, by facing art and having dialogues with ourselves and those around us, we can encounter new ways of seeing, get to know ourselves and others deeply, and shine a gentle light among people. As an interactive art festival, we hope that it will be a warm day. On the day of the event, we are planning various events such as art installations, live paintings, and food truck corners at the Edogawa riverbed and Ozu Shrine venue. We look forward to seeing you there. [Image 2

Concept of EDOROCK・Kawamu
-Our Vision-
“The beauty and benefits of the river. What you can see by experiencing art.” the river is alive
In Japan, where there are many mountains, rivers are closely related to people’s lives.
The Edo River was also created by the river construction of the Tone River during the Edo period, and transported goods from Edo. The riverbed plays an important role as a river when the water volume is high to protect the area from flood damage.
I am grateful for the beautiful greenery and expansive space of this riverbed, Also, the big vision of this event is to convey its significance and charm to the maximum.
-Why ART???-
We want to convey that through art.
There should be many things that you can see by experiencing the various philosophies, possibilities, and ways of life of artists through their works.
You can only see the art of “EDOROCK Kawamyu”, which is only possible when there is a riverbed.
In today’s rapidly changing world, we believe that art plays an important role in awakening people’s raison d’être and their original sensibilities.
I would like to make this an event that will leave a lasting impression on you when you experience the works on the riverbed.

Thanks to the existence of corona, if you notice, different values and lifestyles have become commonplace.
We are now in an era where we can get various information and things without meeting people. The time has come when you can work without going to the office.
However, there are many things that are overflowing with information that make it difficult to see even your own thoughts.

Each person has their own way of enjoying EDOROCK Kawamyu.
You can decipher the art in your own way and try to draw sentences, you can have a dialogue with the children about the work, you can move your body to the music, or you can stand in the work on a leisure sheet. , You can take a picture with your favorite person, and of course you are welcome to stare at it alone.
There are as many ways to enjoy it as there are people. I hope that it will be a kind time for everyone to be considerate of everyone. And I hope that such a form will be born in everyone, such as valuing dialogue with others and with yourself.
We will continue our activities with the hope that “EDOROCK Kawamyu” will become such an opportunity.
