Fujiyoshida has been producing textiles for more than 1,000 years and is attracting attention from creators.
Fujiyoshida City is an hour and a half away from Tokyo by highway bus. It has prospered as a textile town for more than 1,000 years thanks to the lush green scenery and the cool water that flows down from Mt. Fuji. Today, it is attracting attention as a city that continues to innovate while connecting traditions, such as holding exhibitions and art exhibitions of hataya, which has challenged the creation of new textile values in collaboration with creators and artists.
