FENDI, a luxury brand representing Rome, Italy, will participate in the event “Les Journees Particulieres” hosted by LVMH from October 14th to 16th, 2022. . At this event, 52 LVMH Maisons will open their doors and you will be able to visit special places that are not normally open to the public. Fendi will bring its newly opened leather goods workshop in Capannuccia, near Florence, and its shoe workshop in Fermo, Marche, to full operation. Covering an area of 8 hectares, the facility occupies 30,000 square meters of the former Brunelleschi kiln site.
Kapannuccia’s “Fendi Factory” will feature a permanent exhibition of photographs highlighting the facility’s history, a focus on
sustainability, and a special project that pays tribute to
craftsmanship and exceptional craftsmanship, offering a Fendi “hand-in”.・We will exhibit the “Baguette” bag produced in the “hand in hand” project. An unprecedented and unique project “hand in hand” is a grassroots partnership with artisans from all over Italy. Showcasing the traditional skills of master craftsmen from all over Italy, their craftsmanship continues Fendi’s long history of reinterpreting this iconic shape. In addition, works from the “DIS-CYCLING” project, carried out in collaboration with Fendi and the prestigious Italian fashion university Istituto Marangoni Firenze, will be presented. For the project, New York-based artist Sarah Coleman mentored students at the school who have been working to recover materials used in Fendi’s window installations.
Located in the heart of the Eternal City of Rome, Palazzo Fendi is the Maison’s flagship store designed to embody Fendi’s signature Roman codes, including Traveltino marble. The fur atelier at the back of the first floor will be open to the public, and you can see the amazing craftsmanship hidden in the custom-made fur products created by the hands of fur craftsmen, along with the ready-to-wear and fur archive exhibits. In addition, leather goods craftsmen will demonstrate the production process of the bag at the company store. The Fendi Privé luxury private apartments, overlooking Largo Goldoni and Via Condotti, will also be specially unveiled.
New digital experiences are also available at Palazzo Fendi in Rome and Fendi Factory in Capannuccia. Through a playful touchless interaction equipped with advanced 3D adaptive sensors, you can discover the Fendi “hand in hand” baguettes from Sicily and Molise. The new shoe factory in Fermo, Marche, a world-famous shoe production area, covers 7,000 square meters and includes various production areas, offices and warehouses. It expresses the Maison’s dualism of combining artisanal savoir-faire and handwork with technological innovation, always keeping an eye on environmental sustainability. About Les Journes Particuliere
Born in 2011 under the initiative of Antoine Arnault, Les Journées Particulières by LVMH will take place from Friday 14th to Sunday 16th October 2022. To date, hundreds of thousands of visitors have been exposed to the Group’s vast heritage and the know-how of LVMH’s Maisons, passed down from one generation to the next. Visitors will take guided tours to enjoy craftsmanship realizations, lectures and interactive presentations. Watchmaker couturiers, perfume sealers, shoemakers, cellar masters, jewelers, trunk makers, riddlers, top seamstresses, chefs… We spent an unforgettable weekend sharing our commitment to sex. As one of the most important events, we welcomed more than 180,000 people this year to see the diversity of the Group’s business and know-how. The program showcases artisanal savoir-faire and creativity with a focus on the five senses, along with the architectural and cultural heritage of the LVMH Group. The event was born out of generosity, positivity and a desire to share exceptional places and works.
