■Representative Director’s Lecture
Representative Director Otsubo will be on stage at two special lectures hosted by Yamazaki Mazak on November 10th, once in the morning and once in the afternoon.
Theme: “A new way of corporate growth in the manufacturing industry that utilizes digital technology
~ About the factory scientist who is the key to that
Date: Thursday, November 10th 10:30-10:45 / 14:30-14:45
Location: Inside the Yamazaki Mazak booth (E5001, East Hall 5) Application: Not required (please come directly to the booth) [Comment from Factory Scientist Representative Director Masato Otsubo] Factory scientists are by no means special people. It is a group of people who can master the various tools that are easy and inexpensive and can realize the IoT necessary to increase their labor
productivity. By increasing the number of such people, I would like to lower the threshold for IoT throughout the organization and create a world where everyone supports each other through the use of IoT. ■ Association of Factory Scientists
Established in April 2020 as an educational institution to develop digital human resources “factory scientists” (hereinafter referred to as FS) at manufacturing sites and promote networking. There are four main activities: “Fostering FS human resources”, “FS qualification certification”, “Fostering FS instructors”, and “Supporting business matching through active interaction between members”. As a training course, we hold the “Factory Scientist Training Course” four times a year based on the contents developed in the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s “Industry-Academia Collaborative Digital Manufacturing Core Human Resource Development Project” in 2018. In addition, from 2021, three applied courses (industrial robots, AI, machine tools (trial holding)) will be offered.
Currently, there are 500 qualified Factory Scientists. We aim to train 40,000 factory scientists by 2030.
