We will hold an online event where you can listen to the stories of the mayor and immigrants in Onagawa Town, Miyagi Prefecture, as the “Tohoku Living Discovery School” with the theme of moving to Tohoku, this time as “Onagawa School”.
Located in the southern part of the Sanriku region, the town of Onagawa, home to one of Japan’s leading fishing ports, Onagawa, has developed the slogan “Become the world’s number one place for fresh starts” in view of its recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake and its future vision. We are moving forward strongly as a town that supports people who take on new challenges such as migration and entrepreneurship. In this event, Mayor Yoshiaki Suda will speak directly to the participants about the attractions of the region, and it will be a place where participants can talk with each other while listening to the voices of immigrants based on their actual
experiences.
The guests included Yuu Honda, a nursery teacher at Onagawa Municipal Shiokaze Nursery School, Naonobu Harada, CEO of Tsunagaru Co., Ltd., and Tatsuto Okada, who is active in an IT company. Rina Iwabe, who is also an immigrant from Miyazaki Prefecture, was invited as a local coordinator from the specified non-profit organization Ashenokibo, which has continued to lead Kawamachi’s new challenges. We will tell you the charm of the area and people in the talk.
In addition, as a joint project with the SDGs magazine “Sotokoto”, which creates the future with the theme of “Society and the
environment are getting better and more interesting,” we welcomed the editor-in-chief of the magazine and delved into the reality of moving to Onagawa. To go. Learn about migration, learn about the region, and get a chance to take a new step forward.
