・Hyundai will continue to mitigate the impact of global business uncertainty Seoul, October 4, 2022 – Hyundai Motor Company announced that global sales in September 2022 increased by 24.4% year-on-year to 355,040 units. Despite global supply shortages and ongoing geopolitical challenges, global sales have recovered steadily this year.
Hyundai Motor Company sold a total of 298,130 units in markets outside of South Korea, up 23.4% year-on-year. Strong sales in North America, South America, India and the Asia Pacific markets contributed to this momentum.
Domestic sales in South Korea increased by 29.8% year-on-year to 56,910 units, thanks to strong sales of 17,059 units and 9,646 units of the SUV model and luxury brand Genesis, respectively.
Hyundai Motor Company will reduce business uncertainty by optimizing production and inventory, and diversifying business strategies for each region, despite the severe external environment such as continued parts shortages and fluctuations in raw material costs.
Global sales volume for the January-September period decreased by 1% year-on-year, but since the middle of this year, the recovery in global sales volume has accelerated, and the rate of decline has narrowed. Hyundai Motor Company aims to continue this trend in the fourth quarter by strengthening its product lineup, including the recently launched IONIQ 6 and the new Grandeur sedan that will be unveiled at the end of the year.
