Sumitomo Heavy Industries Construction Crane Implements Infor’s ERP for Manufacturing to Improve Cash Flow and Reduce Inventory
By optimizing the parts delivery date, the costs related to purchasing at the start of manufacturing were cut in half, and surplus inventory was also reduced by 25%.
Infor Japan Co., Ltd. (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter referred to as Infor), a Japanese subsidiary of Infor, a US cloud company
specializing in the industry, and Sumitomo Heavy Industries
Construction Crane Co., Ltd. (Taito-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter referred to as HSC) will develop crawler cranes. We are announcing that we have implemented Infor’s global ERP “Infor LN” for large-scale
manufacturers as an ERP that supports production management, and have improved cash flow and reduced inventories by optimizing parts delivery times. Kyocera Communication Systems Co., Ltd., which has extensive experience implementing Infor’s ERP in the manufacturing industry, supported this project and led it to success.
HSC is a crawler crane manufacturer that boasts a top-class market share in the domestic market.
Since crawler cranes are customized according to individual
specifications for each model, production management becomes complicated. With the end of support for the ERP they had been using, HSC considered replacing it with a next-generation system that supports complex production management, and introduced a global ERP “Infor LN” for large-scale manufacturing industries. As a result, we have optimized parts delivery times and reduced human work by improving the operational system. By optimizing the delivery of parts, compared to the previous year, the costs related to purchasing at the start of manufacturing were reduced by about half, and excess inventory was reduced by about 25%, improving cash flow and reducing inventories.
