Those who achieved the target of specific health guidance “model implementation” that emphasizes results will have a 50% reduction in the specific health guidance applicable rate in the next fiscal year compared to those who have not achieved the target.
~Report by Keio University at the 81st Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Public Health~

Insights Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Yosuke Ishikawa, hereinafter “Insights”), which provides health promotion services and specific health guidance services, is an ICT-based specific health guidance program (minus 2/2 challenge). Regarding the following two conclusions obtained from research using actual data (hereinafter referred to as this research), Dr. Hiroyo Yoshizawa, a researcher at the Keio University Sports Medicine Research Center, and others at the 81st General Assembly of the Japanese Society of Public Health (October 2022) We would like to inform you that it was announced in
Those who achieved “▲2kg・▲2cm” by specific health guidance account for 50% of those who did not achieve specific health guidance in the next fiscal year.
People who continue to measure their weight during the period are six times more likely to achieve “▲2kg・▲2cm”
The Japanese Society of Public Health is widely known as an
authoritative academic society in the field of public health in Japan. This study was presented as one of the epidemiological and health information at the 81st Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Public Health.
Outline of this research
Since 2018, specific health guidance has introduced a “model implementation” that evaluates changes in “body weight and waist circumference” (outcome) in addition to the conventional method of evaluating the amount of intervention (process). This research can be positioned as an attempt to verify the effects of this “model implementation.”
Purpose 1: Will those who have achieved a weight of 2 kg and a waist circumference of 2 cm escape from being subject to specific health guidance in the next fiscal year?
Purpose 2: Is there a difference in behavior during the specified health guidance period between those who have achieved the goal and those who have not?
Program: ICT-based Specific Health Guidance Program “Minus 2・2 Challenge” (Provided by Insights)
Target: 171 people who participated in the specific health guidance in 2019 and underwent a specific health checkup in 2020
Result 1: Those who did not achieve “weight 2 kg and waist
circumference 2 cm” were 2.2 times more likely to receive specific health guidance in the next fiscal year.
Result 2: Those who regularly weighed (input) were six times more likely to achieve “weight 2kg and waist circumference 2cm reduction” [Imaged29004-21-798d8080d624b128f046-0.png&s3=29004-21-cdf6d8119c9bc00184c67eaa14ea3bec-765x419.png
Future specific health guidance that emphasizes results
Based on the fact that it is reported that “model implementation” that emphasizes outcomes is useful for conventional specific health guidance, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has implemented the 4th specific health checkup implementation plan (from 2024) ), a shift to result-oriented specific health guidance is underway. In response to this, medical insurers, who are obliged to implement specific health guidance, are beginning to review the implementation method of specific health guidance. .
This research is an analysis of the performance data of specific health guidance provided by Insights to multiple medical insurers, and can be used as evidence of the results that can be expected by adopting result-oriented specific health guidance in the future. We believe.
What is the “Minus 2.2 Challenge”, an ICT-based specific health guidance program that emphasizes results?
The Minus 2.2 Challenge, which provided data for this study, provides remote initial interviews using ICT and continuous support for 3 months (information provision and weight/abdominal circumference input using a dedicated web application). This is an ICT-based specific health guidance program.
-Features of Minus 2.2 Challenge-
Achievement rate of “▲2kg/▲2cm” significantly higher than the national average Reduction of specific health guidance costs (19,800 yen per person) Selected for the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare Data Health Promotion Project from 2018 to 2021
