Mino clay brought by magma and lakes. The technique of Mino ware that has been handed down from 1300 years ago. It is because of the tremendous accumulation of time that the pottery is born in the land of Mino today. Respecting the strata that nature and people weave together, we build new layers by creating Mino ware that is unique to modern times. “Beautiful and dense strata” is a record of such a process. With Kaori Akiyama of STUDIO BYCOLOR as the director, this is a new attempt by Izawa Corporation to accumulate the unseen
possibilities of Mino ware and new ways of enjoying food in a way unique to the current era. This exhibition can be viewed at Roppongi Common during DESIGNART TOKYO 2022, which will be held from Friday, October 21, 2022.

A lidded rice bowl born from Japanese hospitality culture. Although it is not often used at the daily dining table, it is not only functional but also has a rich emotion. In Mino, where the best rice bowls in Japan are made, we once again explored the hidden potential of rice bowls with lids and searched for a form that could be used every day. During the exhibition period, we plan to provide food in prototype lidded bowls at the exhibition venue Common (Roppongi, Minato-ku, Tokyo), so that you can enjoy the collaboration between food and space.
