It is a substance secreted from the wax glands in the abdomen of worker bees and is the main component of honeybee hives. In the workshop, we will use the honeycomb that has been refined after collecting honey at Americayama Park in the Motomachi Yamate district of Yokohama.
By applying heat and soaking the beeswax into the cloth, it becomes an “eco-friendly wrap” that can be washed with water and used repeatedly. “Hachiiku (R)” is an activity to raise interest in the environment through “honeybees” in modern times when awareness of flowers and greenery tends to be weak.
Honey bees have a radius of about 2 to 3 km and collect nectar from flowers blooming within that range. The taste of honey, which is made from the nectar collected by honeybees, differs depending on the vegetation, flower type, and season of the region.
The Seibu Landscape Group raises honeybees in the parks it manages and operates, including Amerikayama Park and Shinsugita Park in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture. We are working on the promotion of regional cooperation and regional development such as product development with honey honey.
