Marklines Electric Vehicle Sales Monthly Report September 2022
Marklines Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Makoto Sakai; http://www.marklines.com/) is targeting 14 major countries covering approximately 90% of global electric vehicle sales. The September 2022 Electric Vehicle (EV/PHV/FCV) Sales Monthly Report (excluding commercial vehicles, including estimates), which analyzes information on the number of electric vehicles and sales trends in the global market, has been posted.
Target countries: China, USA, Japan, India, Germany, France, Brazil, UK, South Korea, Canada, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Finland
Market share of electric vehicles (EV/PHV/FCV)
 In September, 955,000 electric vehicles were sold in 11 major countries and the three Nordic countries of Norway, Sweden, and Finland (total of 14 countries). The result was a 59.3% increase compared to the same month of the previous year and a 14.8% increase compared to the previous month.
The share of electric vehicles in all powertrains was 17.8%, an increase of 12.8 points from September 2020, and an increase of 0.3 points compared to the previous month. (*Past volume data has been partially revised.) On the other hand, HVs (excluding mild HVs) are at a standstill at 5.2%, gradually widening the gap with electric vehicles.

BYD hit a record high of 195,000 units, and although Tesla also increased its sales volume from the previous month, it fell short of the leader BYD and came in second. GM (including SAIC-GM-Wuling) ranks third with 65,000 units, but Geely, which has expanded its lineup of electric vehicles and is gradually increasing the number of vehicles, is closing in on them.
