The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries chef award system “Cooking Masters” is a system that honors chefs who continue to be proud and particular about the splendor and depth of Japanese “food” and “food culture” as well as their appeal.
Active chefs who are working in collaboration with producers, food companies, etc., and who are committed to various initiatives such as local production for local consumption and the spread of Japanese food culture are eligible for the award. By honoring such chefs, we aim to promote the development of Japan’s agriculture, forestry and fisheries industries, rural areas, and the food industry, as well as revitalize local communities through an increase in tourists and the overseas expansion of food companies.
