Backing paper parts such as PET film separators used for adhesive products such as labels and industrial tapes are often discarded and burned. These will be replaced with recyclable separators made of PET synthetic paper, collected after use by users, and material-recycled to demonstrate that they can be reused as raw materials for recyclable separators. The company plans to complete the demonstration in March 2024 and then proceed with mass production.

CO2 reduction effect
Regarding the CO2 reduction effect when replacing the representative material used for the backing of adhesive products with the “separator for recycling”, in accordance with the Ministry of the Environment’s “LCA Guidelines on the Reduction of Greenhouse Gases such as Renewable Energy and Hydrogen Energy” , calculated based on our own standards. The CO2 reduction effect is expected to be 38.3% by replacing the 50μ PET film separator, 29.6% by replacing the release paper (single-sided poly-laminated separator), and 14.3% by replacing the release paper (direct glass separator). Through the demonstration project, the policy is to scrutinize and publish the figures.
