NTT Business Solutions Corporation (Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, President: Ichiro Uehara, hereinafter NTT Business Solutions), Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation (Osaka City, Osaka
Prefecture, President: Masaaki Moribayashi, hereinafter NTT West), NTT West・ Smart Connect Co., Ltd. (Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, President Takafumi Makiuchi), Media Links Co., Ltd. (Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, President Tsukasa Sugawara), FOR-A Co., Ltd. (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, President Katsuaki Kiyohara) The “Remote Editing Service Co-Creation Project” (hereinafter referred to as “this project”) launched by five companies is a demonstration experiment of a remote editing service (hereinafter referred to as “this service”) with the cooperation of four broadcasting stations and program production companies * 1. We have successfully confirmed the stable operability of this service in a remote environment and its suitability for video editing work. We will continue to study business feasibility, etc., and aim to commercialize this service.

(Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, President Yuji Kikukawa, hereinafter referred to as ytvNextry)
1. About the results of the demonstration experiment
In order to confirm the suitability of this service for video editing work and the effect of improving work, this project conducted a joint demonstration experiment (hereinafter referred to as joint experiment) with a broadcasting station and a program production company. The results are as follows.
(1) Joint experiment with Asahi Broadcasting Television and Ehime Asahi Television
1.Overview
In a joint experiment with Asahi Broadcasting Television and Ehime Asahi Television, editing work was performed remotely from Ehime Asahi Television (Ehime Prefecture) using this service in real-time editing of Koshien relay video (hereinafter referred to as Koshien video editing). , verified the suitability of this service for Koshien video editing.
2. Results
By using this service, we were able to reduce the travel time for Ehime Asahi Television’s interview team (director, cameraman, and announcer). In addition, it became possible to divide the work of editing work and the work of on-site coverage, so we were able to secure about 3 hours a day longer than before for the coverage team. Please see [Attachment 1] for details.
(2) Joint experiment with Chukyo TV
1.Overview
In a joint experiment with Chukyo Television (Aichi Prefecture), remote connection was made to an editing server in the Osaka area, and editing work and remote monitor display by IP transmission of high-definition video signals were stabilized under a remote environment in a remote location. We verified whether it is possible to realize the operability of
2. Results
Regarding editing work and monitor display, it was possible to achieve the same level of operability as in an office environment even when there is a distance of about 140 km between the Nagoya area and the Osaka area. Please see [Attachment 2] for details.
(3) Joint experiment with ytvNextry
1.Overview
In the joint experiment with ytvNextry, we conducted verification through the program production workflow of “editing video material ⇒ generation and insertion of telops ⇒ transmission of high-definition video images and confirmation of images on a high-definition monitor” in a cloud environment. Below, we verified whether it is possible to produce a complete package (complete package) video.
2. Results
We were able to implement a series of workflows in a cloud environment and complete the production of a complete package (complete package) video. The results showed that program production work, which was conventionally performed in an office environment, can now be performed in a remote environment regardless of location. Please see [Attachment 3] for details.
2. About future development
In response to the generally favorable results obtained in joint experiments with various companies, this project will continue to expand cooperation with broadcasting stations and program production companies while striving to identify and resolve problems in program production. In order to determine whether the service will contribute to the future, we will continue to consider business feasibility, etc., and aim to commercialize this service. By providing this service widely to broadcasting stations and program production companies, we will work to realize work style reforms in program production sites and to be one of the solutions to various issues in the broadcasting industry. In addition, we will continue to plan and develop various services using ICT and promote initiatives that contribute to the realization of DX in the broadcasting industry.
The outline and main features*2 of this service currently under consideration are as follows.
*2 Information is current and may change in the future. Please note. (1) Service overview
This is a service that allows editors to remotely connect to the editing server in the data center operated by the NTT West Group and edit the video. The video edited on the server can be converted to a format (JPEG XS) that can be transmitted over the IP network using the IP transmission device MDP3020*3 and displayed on a remote monitor. As a result, editing work that was previously performed in the office environment can now be performed at home or on the go. Editors can edit from home, and directors can check high-definition video in the office environment, enabling new ways of working regardless of work location.
*3 IP transmission device MDP3020 complies with the “JPEG XS” standard, which compresses video data to less than 1/10th of its original size in a processing time of several milliseconds and enables IP video transmission with visually lossless video quality. A compatible device.

(2) Main features of the service
1. Editing and confirmation of high-definition video is possible High-definition video signals edited by editors on the editing server can be transmitted via IP and displayed on a monitor in a remote location, enabling confirmation of high-definition video through the cloud environment.
2. Can be connected to customer equipment
By making a VPN connection between the video material storage installed in the customer’s office environment and the cloud environment, it is possible to refer to the files in the material storage from the cloud environment.
Video materials and edited video materials can be managed in the customer’s office environment without updating to the cloud
environment.
In addition, we will exhibit at “Inter BEE 2022” to be held at Makuhari Messe (Chiba City) from November 16th (Wednesday) to 18th (Friday), 2022, so that more people can see this service. increase. [Exhibition location: Makuhari Messe Hall 5 (booth number: 5402), NTT Group booth]
