◆Overview
With the support of Okayama University and Okayama University Hospital, volunteer experts from Okayama Prefecture who are involved in infection control conducted an analysis of the infection status and medical care provision system in Okayama Prefecture using the data published on the Okayama Prefecture website. (An analysis update is planned once a week).
In addition, it is expressed in an easy-to-understand manner with reference to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s “Analysis and Comprehensive Comments on the Latest Monitoring Items”.
With the outbreak of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic and repeated declarations of a state of emergency in Japan, we would like to take this opportunity to ascertain the status of the infection and medical care systems in Okayama Prefecture, as well as for your reference on infection prevention measures. I would appreciate it if you could be.
◆ Analysis of infection status and medical care delivery system [as of Wednesday, September 28, 2022]
-Infection status-
Level 4. There are signs that the infection is declining, but special vigilance is required
[Reference: As of last week, September 21 (Wednesday)…Level 4. There are signs of infection reduction, but special vigilance is required] The number of new positives has decreased to 312 per 100,000 population. However, clusters continue to occur. The number of new positive cases continues to decline, but the decline is slow, probably because of the consecutive holidays. From September 26th, the notification of all cases will be reviewed, and from September 28th, vaccination against the Omicron strain will start in Okayama prefecture. Continuation of preventive measures against infectious diseases is important.
-Medical care system-
Level 3. Regime stress appears to be showing signs of easing [Reference: As of last week, September 21 (Wednesday)…Level 3. There seem to be signs of easing the strained regime.]
With the decrease in the number of new infections, the number of hospitalized patients and the number of people undergoing medical treatment are also decreasing. Although some of the burden on the medical care provision system continues, the situation is improving. [Image 2
