We will carry out the “Korifuku Campaign”, an initiative to reduce food loss through live broadcasts at the food counters of department stores and supermarkets.
The period is Food Loss Reduction Month (October 8-31), and the participating stores are 6 department stores and supermarkets. Based on the actual usage data during the campaign, we will verify the effect of reducing food loss, etc., and use data science to compile scientific knowledge that will help reduce food loss.
◆Overview
As an initiative to reduce food loss generated at food supermarkets, etc., the Low Carbon and Waste Recycling Research Center of National University Corporation Okayama University (Headquarters: Kita Ward, Okayama City; President: Hiroshi Makino) and Okayama University Official Club (Alumni Association) The DS (Data Science) Department, Environment Department ECOLO, and Okayama University SDGs Ambassadors collaborated to plan and operate the “Norifuku Campaign”, an initiative to reduce food loss through live broadcasts of food sales floors such as department stores and supermarkets. departments of 6 businesses and stores that agree with the purpose, and live images (still images) will be distributed, as well as data such as product names, prices, discount rates, etc. in the images. system has been developed. You can also search by setting the desired store / food category. The broadcast image will be released on the “Norifuku Campaign” website from October 8th.
Based on usage data, etc. during this campaign period, we will verify the effects of reducing food loss and greenhouse gases, and compile scientific findings that will help reduce food loss through analysis using data science.
