[Survey Report] What kind of smartphone information do you want people to never see? The first place was “Internet search history”!
Information media “ahamo” (https://sublogg.com/ahamo/) operated by Review Co., Ltd. (https://jafmate.co.jp/) is aimed at people over the age of 10 all over Japan. We conducted a questionnaire survey on “information on smartphones that you absolutely do not want to see”. We will publish the results.

Summary of survey results
When we conducted a survey on smartphone information that we absolutely did not want to see, the first place was “Internet search history”.

The first place is “Internet search history”.
After 2nd place, “Photo folder” and “LINE contents” followed, and “YouTube playback history” came in 6th place.
1st place: Internet search history
・I’m the type who wants to find out about anything that interests me. ! Because I’m searching for something like that. It’s embarrassing to know that. (Female in her 40s)
・I often search for things I don’t want others to see, and I don’t remember exactly what I searched for, so I don’t want people to see something I didn’t expect (Male, 30s)
・I don’t want to be seen because I’m only searching for silly things. Are you really thinking about this? Don’t you know this? I don’t want to think that. (Female in her 40s)
The first place is “Internet search history”.
There were many opinions that they didn’t want people to know what they were searching for because they were embarrassed.
2nd place: photo folder
・I can show you things like landscapes and pets, but I’d be
embarrassed if someone saw a selfie or a close-up photo I took to see the condition of my skin, so I definitely don’t want them to see it. (Female in her 40s)
・Because there are a lot of photos and images that are hidden in Hide Photos. I definitely don’t want people to see my past memories or my hobbies! (Male, 30s)
・I don’t like it when I know where I went because I know the location information from the information in the photo. (Female in her 30s) The second place was the result of “photo folder”.
Since the photo folder is a mass of privacy, there are so many people who do not want to be seen.
3rd place: LINE content
・There are various personal information stories, complaints and swear words. Depending on the content of the conversation, sexual
preferences may be revealed, which is embarrassing (female, 30s) ・I don’t want others to see the history of LINE calls and
conversations with my family, friends, relatives, etc. (Male, 20s) ・Because it would be embarrassing if other people knew about the exchanges with your girlfriend, such as information that you don’t want other people to know about various things between close friends and lovers. (Men in their 50s and up)
4th place: Posting on key SNS
・Since I tweet about various things on Twitter, I don’t like it being seen. I don’t want to be seen too much because I’m talking about my husband’s complaints. (Female in her 30s)
・I have a hobby account that is different from my usual self, and I definitely don’t want my friends who are connected in real life to see it. (Female in her 20s)
・I write information that I do not want my friends and family to see. I think it’s mainly because of the husband’s actions and complaints. When I tell people about it, I write everything in my own words, even if it’s wrapped in oblate, so I definitely don’t want them to see it. (Female in her 20s)
5th place: diary app
・Because I wrote down endlessly the hard feelings at that time and evidence photos when my boyfriend cheated on me in the past, I can’t let anyone see it! (Female in her 30s)
・Because I record my weight and private matters, I don’t want people to see it no matter what happens. (Female in her 30s)
・Because I keep a detailed record of my interests and the events of the day, I think it’s embarrassing and uncool to be seen. (Male, 30s) 6th place: Voice memo list
・It would be embarrassing if people asked me about the songs I sang and the guitar I played in the past. (Female in her 30s)
6th place: YouTube playback history
・Because I sometimes play dubious content and heavy content that is controversial depending on the person, I think that most people will pull back if someone sees it. (Female in her 30s)
“Play history of Youtube etc.” was the result of 6th place.
There was an opinion that it would be a problem if people knew what kind of things they were reproducing, because they didn’t know what they would think.
summary
When we conducted a questionnaire to 100 people, 37.0% of the total answered “Internet search history”.
In addition, as reasons for responding, there were many opinions that it would be embarrassing if people knew what they were researching, and that they didn’t want to see search history that they didn’t even remember.
Smartphones are packed with a lot of privacy, so you can see that there are a lot of troubles when they are seen.
