Introducing outdoor products that are the fruit of the craftsmanship of Sanjo City and Minamiaizu Town
Sanjo City, Niigata Prefecture (Mayor: Ryo Takizawa) as a hometown tax return gift, village blacksmith (Headquarters: Sanjo City, Niigata Prefecture, Yamaya Sangyo Co., Ltd. President: Mr. Takenori Yamaya) and Ozoshika Project (Headquarters: Minamiaizu, Fukushima Prefecture) From October 7th (Friday), 3 types of outdoor products jointly developed by Ms. Shoko Koyama, representative of Gunnan Aizu Town, have been added.
Sanjo City, Minamiaizu Town, and Tadami Town in Fukushima Prefecture have been interacting with the government, commerce and industry for some time in anticipation of an increase in the non-resident population after the opening of the Yasorigoe Road (National Route 289). We are working on product development that makes use of each other’s strengths and resources in fields such as tourism and industry.
In the town of Oze and Minamiaizu, where deer feeding damage is becoming more serious, we want to solve the problem by using deer skins exterminated. Through Sanjo City, we consulted with Yamaya Sangyo Co., Ltd., which handles the blacksmith brand of the village, and developed and sold it.
Limited to 10 each month, we will exhibit on 4 portal sites: Rakuten Furusato Tax, Furusato Choice, Furunavi, and Satofuru.

[About gifts]
Comes with a hatchet finished by a blacksmith in Sanjo and a case made of supple and strong deerskin made by a leather craftsman in Minamiaizu Town. 3 types with different dimensions will be added to the return gift.
Double-edged hatchets are manufactured at Aida Joint Factory in Sanjo City. It is finished in a long-lasting product with this forged steel that is forged with a hammer by a blacksmith.
The dedicated deerskin case is a roll type, and it can be stored by wrapping a cord made of deerskin.
Deer antler is used for the deerskin case clasp, and by using antler along with the leather, you can feel the dynamism of the deer living in the great outdoors.
The surface of the deerskin case is engraved with the logos of the Osetsuka Project and the village blacksmith.

-About Yamaya Sangyo Co., Ltd.-
Founded in 1979 as a hardware wholesaler for fishing gear.
Through the changes of the times, the current second generation operates a fishing gear hardware wholesaler and an online shop “Mura no Kajiya”. Also launched the outdoor brand “TSBBQ” with art director Ryuta Ishikawa from Sanjo City, Niigata Prefecture. He has fans both in Japan and abroad, and is leading the outdoor industry in Sanjo City.

The deer population has increased rapidly in Oze and Minamiaizu Town, but the deer that have been exterminated are not being utilized effectively.
In addition to the soft and supple texture of leather, we produce original leather goods that are attractive with vivid colors dyed with natural ingredients such as local blueberries.
Contributing to nature conservation through deerskin while facing the lives of living things.
[Summary of Hometown Tax in Sanjo City]
Sanjo City in Niigata Prefecture is known as a “manufacturing town,” and manufactures hardware, knives, daily necessities, and outdoor products that make use of metal processing technology, as well as cultivating fruit trees that grow on fertile land blessed by the Shinano River. Because of the popularity of the festival, we have a range of gifts that make use of the characteristics of the region. The amount of hometown tax donations in fiscal 2021 exceeded 1.5 billion yen, more than double the amount in fiscal 2020 (approximately 720 million yen in fiscal 2020), a dramatic increase.
The target amount of donations for hometown tax donations in 2022 is set at 2.5 billion yen.

Sanjo City is located almost in the center of Niigata Prefecture, with a total area of about 432 square kilometers and a population of about 95,000.
