Shinagawa Ward Opens Designated Cultural Properties That Can’t Be Seen to the Public on Culture Day

With the cooperation of the owners, Shinagawa Ward will open designated cultural properties that are usually not open to the public from November 3rd to 6th in conjunction with “Culture Day”. There are 6 to 8 designated cultural properties that are open to the public. An explanatory pamphlet will also be distributed. Please take a look.                   Former Mitsui Bunko 2nd Library in the Bunko Forest About Shinagawa-ku Designated Cultural Properties Open to the Public Every year in Shinagawa Ward, with the cooperation of the owners, designated cultural properties that are not normally open to the public are opened to the public.
This year, from November 3rd (Thursday/holiday) to 6th (Sunday) from 10:00 to 16:00, the former Mitsui Bunko 2nd Library (*Open only on the 3rd, 5th and 6th), Ito Hirobumi’s grave (Hirobumi Ito Graveyard), Mikoshi, Taisuke Itagaki Grave (Shinagawa Shrine), Amenomame no Mikoto Figure (Yoriki Shrine), Wooden Seated Statue of Five Wisdom Nyorai (Yogyokuin), Itsukushima Shrine (Iruki Shrine), Eight locations will be open to the public: the stone guardian dog, Kenponashi of Togoshi Hachiman Shrine (Togoshi Hachiman Shrine), and the wooden seated Amida Nyorai statue (Gyokeiji Temple).
By providing opportunities to come into contact with local history and cultural properties, we will deepen our attachment to our hometown and understanding of cultural property protection, as well as widely disseminate information on cultural properties in Shinagawa Ward. “Please take this opportunity to see it.”
