Exhibited at “SDGs AICHI EXPO 2022”
‐Introduction of activities to achieve the SDGs through a booth exhibition‐
Watami Co., Ltd. (Ota-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter referred to as Watami) will hold Aichi Sky Expo (Aichi Prefecture We will exhibit at Japan’s largest SDGs promotion fair “SDGs AICHI EXPO 2022” held at the International Exhibition Hall). At “SDGs AICHI EXPO 2022”, we will introduce our activities to achieve the goals of the SDGs at our booth exhibition.
■ “SDGs AICHI EXPO 2022”
In 2019, Aichi Prefecture was selected as an “SDGs Future City” by the national government, and companies, universities, NPOs,
municipalities, etc. in Aichi Prefecture are starting various initiatives. As in SDGs GOAL 17, “Let’s achieve goals through partnerships,” consolidating the power of individuals and building strong partnerships throughout Aichi Prefecture will be a step towards achieving the SDGs. At the “SDGs AICHI EXPO”, many companies, universities, schools, NPOs, municipalities, etc. will participate, share their efforts for the SDGs, and hold it as an opportunity to build partnerships with many people. The theme of this year’s event is “Towards a Society Where the Earth, Communities, and People Can Coexist Together” – SDGs Aichi Created through Multigenerational Partnership -.
Date and time: October 6th (Thursday), 7th (Friday), 8th (Saturday) 10: 00-17: 00 each day

At the booth, Watami will introduce “containers and packaging,” “organic,” “RE100,” “zero food loss/food recycling,” and “human rights policy,” which Watami is working on by organizing an SDGs task force. A mini stage will be set up in the booth, and the promotion leader will give a presentation on each initiative. Panels will also be used to exhibit the “Rikuzentakata Watami Organic Land,” a
recycling-oriented agricultural theme park that opened in
Rikuzentakata City, Iwate Prefecture in April 2021. At the same time, charity sales of lunch boxes from “Watami no Takushoku” will be held. Efforts will be made to collect used containers and have them cooperate in recycling.
In addition, we plan to exhibit the efforts and results of the three public goods supported by Watami.
■ Achieving SDGs
At the Watami Group, we will actively work to achieve the goals of the SDGs (“Goals for Sustainable Development by 2030” adopted by the United Nations), and we will take sustainable action in all areas of our corporate activities. We will promote it. As a group, we will cooperate not only with our employees but also with all stakeholders so that the realization of our growth strategy can contribute to the achievement of the SDGs.
■ As an eco-first company
In 2010, the Watami Group was certified as an “Eco-First Company” by the Ministry of the Environment for its past efforts and expectations for the future. Since the start of the Eco-First system in April 2008, this is the first time that all domestic group businesses (restaurant, nursing care, home delivery for the elderly, merchandising,
agriculture, environment/maintenance *as of 2010) have obtained certification.
