Efforts toward decarbonization in Sagamihara City
[Image 7

In September 2020, Sagamihara City announced the “Sagamihara Climate Emergency Declaration” and expressed its determination to aim for net zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2050. In addition, in August 2021, the “Sagamihara Decarbonization Roadmap” will be formulated to indicate the path to the realization of a decarbonized society, and to further strengthen efforts to combat global warming and work on energy conservation. We are promoting support for small and medium-sized businesses and promoting the introduction of renewable energy facilities for residents.
The realization of a decarbonized society is a goal that cannot be reached with conventional measures to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. It is necessary to change.
To achieve the big goal of realizing a decarbonized society by 2050, we will further promote our efforts with the catchphrase “Switch to the future! Zero carbon Sagamihara”.
