If roads (land routes) are cut off due to a large-scale disaster, this region, surrounded by the sea and mountains, will have the problem of being isolated, and sea routes will become valuable transportation routes. In addition, although boats can only dock at ports, using ribbed boats and personal watercraft allows you to land on the beach, increasing the number of transportation and delivery points. On November 20, assuming a large-scale disaster, three cities and one town (Hayama Town, Zushi City, Kamakura City, and Fujisawa City) were connected by sea, and supplies were delivered “from beach to beach” and “from city to next city.” and train people to be transported. Hayama Town and Zushi City, which signed a Comprehensive Agreement on Assistance and Cooperation in Times of Disaster in October 2022, will use Riviera-owned rib boats from the Yokosuka Coast Guard patrol boat Kinugasa, which is moored at sea. We will keep the relief supplies and carry them to the beach (Morito coast, Zushi coast) using a personal watercraft.
By having the general public participating in the beach cleanup experience how goods are transported from the sea, the sea and the land, neighboring cities and towns, and people are connected, and the entire Sagami Bay area uses the sea to support in the event of a disaster. I hope it will be a suitable environment.
*Rib boat (RIB) is an abbreviation for Rigid-hulled Inflatable Boat. The hull is made of sturdy FRP or aluminum and surrounded by rubber tubes inflated with air. As a result, buoyancy is secured, and the structure that can withstand the impact of waves at high speeds is a boat that is stable, safe, secure, and has the strongest mobility. background
1. The serious impact of global warming, which is one of the agenda items of “COP27” currently being held in Egypt. Riviera Resort Co., Ltd., which operates Riviera Zushi Marina, etc., in order to contribute to local residents by transporting and delivering people and goods using sea routes in the event of a disaster, and accepting users for the purpose of securing charging using EVs. , Concluded a disaster comprehensive agreement with Zushi City, Kanagawa Prefecture. Based on this comprehensive agreement, we will conduct marine transportation training to the beach where the beach cleanup is held.

Comments from Stakeholders
Mr. Satoshi Ikeda, Chief of Yokosuka Port, Director of Yokosuka Coast Guard, Japan Coast Guard Third Regional Coast Guard Headquarters The Riviera-sponsored “Large-Scale Disaster Maritime Disaster Prevention Drill-From Beach to Beach-” conducted by “LOVE OCEAN” uses Riviera-owned ships and rib boats to secure a “sea route” instead of a land route. People and goods can be transported and delivered from the sea to beaches that are difficult to handle by boat alone. Conducting this training is a wonderful initiative for the Japan Coast Guard, which protects the sea, to contribute to the safety of the region. is. Mr. Isao Makishima, Representative of the Kanagawa Prefecture Water Relief Association
This time, when Riviera Shonan Beach Cleanup of “LOVE OCEAN” sponsored by Riviera was held on 13 coasts of 13 cities and towns along the Sagami Bay coast, when damage such as regional isolation due to road blockage occurred due to a large-scale disaster, we joined the Kanagawa Prefecture Flood Relief Association. Securing “sea routes” instead of land routes using ships and ribbed boats owned by the Riviera, and implementing “Large-Scale Disaster Maritime Disaster Prevention Drills-From Beach to Beach-” assuming the transport and delivery of people and goods. is a wonderful initiative that matches the actual conditions of the Shonan area, and is highly evaluated as an action that is very useful for regional disaster prevention. Mayor of Zushi City Mr. Satoru Kirigaya
On October 19 this year, Zushi City and Co., Ltd. held a large-scale disaster maritime disaster prevention drill-from the beach to the beach-, which was held at the same time as the Riviera Shonan Beach Cleanup at the 3rd LOVE OCEAN sponsored by the Riviera. This is the first training since the Riviera Resort signed the Comprehensive Agreement on Support Cooperation in Times of Disaster. In Zushi City, which is surrounded by the sea and mountains, when damage such as isolation of the area occurs due to road blockage in the event of a large-scale disaster, we will use the Riviera’s ships and rib boats to replace the land route and utilize the “sea route”. Assuming that people and goods will be transported and delivered, it is a wonderful initiative that contributes to the safety and security of citizens, and it will be a very useful drill for regional disaster prevention.

What is LOVE OCEAN
Based on the concept of “protecting the beautiful sea and connecting people”, and with the keyword “people gather in the beautiful sea”, the regional revitalization model that transcends the framework of municipalities is “thinking about sustainable town development from the sea”. I am aiming for
“LOVE OCEAN”, which started in 3 cities and towns in Kanagawa Prefecture (Zushi, Hayama, Kamakura) in December last year, will be the 3rd time this time, and the area will be greatly expanded to 13 cities and towns (Miura, Yokosuka, Hayama, Zushi, Kamakura) along the Kanagawa coast. , Fujisawa, Chigasaki, Hiratsuka, Oiso, Ninomiya, Odawara, Manazuru, and Yugawara). We will take on various challenges by taking advantage of the community that surrounds Sagami Bay and allows for wide-ranging cooperation. On November 19th, 20th, 26th and 27th, the “Riviera Shonan Beach Cleanup” was held over 4 days, covering 13 coasts in 13 municipalities, covering a distance of 150km. We will hold the “Sea Symposium” at the Riviera Zushi Marina under the theme of “future”.

《About NPO Riviera Future Creation Project》
The Riviera Group’s businesses would not be possible without the blessings of nature. That is why we believe that we have a social mission to address various issues around the world as our own issues. The “Riviera Future Creation Project”, which started activities in 2006, is currently promoting the SDGs with all employees working on the three axes of “environment”, “education” and “health and medical care”. As part of this, since 2012, we have set up the “Ecology Town Riviera Zushi Marina”, using sunlight, completely abolishing plastic straws, beach cleaning activities, events that coexist with pets, recycling farming, etc. Riviera Zushi Marina I am working on building a city. We are also working to raise awareness of reducing CO2 emissions through activities to spread the use of electric vehicles. The “Malibu Hotel” will be the first hotel in Japan to introduce a V2B (Vehicle to Building) system that can supply electricity from an electric vehicle to the lighting and outlets at the front of the hotel in the event of a disaster. I’m here. In December 2020, in order to further promote this social activity, we established the NPO Mirai Creation Project, playing the role of a HUB that connects people and groups, and continuing to take a wide range of steps. 《About Riviera Zushi Marina》
Established in 1971 as one of Japan’s leading marinas, it was acquired by the Riviera Group in 2001 and has been developed as an “adult marina resort” in Zushi City, Kanagawa Prefecture.
“Riviera Zushi Marina” is a short distance of about 60 minutes from the city center, with about 900 palm trees and a marina where luxury cruiser yachts are moored, reminiscent of an overseas resort. Mt.Fuji can be seen over there, and it is also famous as a filming location for movies. On the site of 50,000 tsubo, there are facilities such as a yacht harbor, hotel, restaurants (2 stores), event venues, banquet halls, resort apartments (1,266 units in 9 buildings), tennis courts (4), and shops. In 2020, the 11-room small luxury hotel “Malibu Hotel” and the first Japanese restaurant “Malibu Farm” will open.
Furthermore, in 2022, the near-future design trailer hotel & ocean sauna “SPACE KEY POINT” will open for the first time in Japan, continuing to evolve as a marina resort.
In Riviera, since 2001 when we started the marina business, we have felt climate change and started environmental activities. In 2006, we compiled them and launched the “Riviera Future Creation Project”, and all employees have been focusing on sustainability. At the Riviera Zushi Marina, we are working on urban development as a “Sustainability Town / Riviera Zushi Marina” and promoting SDGs through various activities such as recycling farming methods that achieve zero waste and a significant reduction in CO2 and the use of renewable energy.
