Chidori Kanko Kisen Co., Ltd. (Location: Numazu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Representative Director: Takehiko Goto), a member of the Hamatomo Group, has released the second menu item “Numazu Port Mackerel Grilled Rice Balls” supervised by Miyuki Igarashi, a master of Chinese cuisine, on November 18th. It will be on sale from Sunday (Friday).

In July of this year, Numazu Port’s only pleasure boat, the Mt. Fuji Deep Sea Cruise, and its arrival and departure point, the Numazu Port String Center, were reopened with a new look.

Supervised by Chef Miyuki Igarashi (Chinese Cuisine Mitora), a strong figure in the Chinese cuisine world who is known for his hard-fought battles on “Iron Chef” (Fuji Television), the first local gourmet “Numazu Port Gyoza” is made with wakame seaweed. We are very popular for our exquisite ingredients seasoned with skin and our original fish meal full of umami, as well as our special dashi mustard.
Following this, the second collaboration with Chef Igarashi, “Numazu Port Mackerel Rice Balls”, is an evolutionary rice ball packed with the delicious taste of carefully selected ingredients.
Chef Igarashi is the owner and chef of Miyu, a Chinese restaurant in Hatagaya, Tokyo. An up-and-coming chef who continues his energetic activities, such as popularizing Chinese cuisine in Japan.
In 1997, at the age of 22, he appeared as the youngest challenger (at that time) on “Iron Chef” (Fuji TV).
After engaging in a heated battle with Chinese Iron Chef Chen Kenichi (Sichuan Hotel), he suddenly gained attention as the “Muse of Chinese Cuisine.”
