Kouhei Arikawa, who has been expressing that “EXPO is like a solo art fair”! However, recently it is said that it is close to “the image of the world exposition”.
I did an interview at the venue.
“Artists tend to have the image of being a free profession, but the art world has a commercial side, and people end up drawing only the same popular patterns with the theme of selling or selling. However, I believe that artists should be free, and that is why I started EXPO.” [Image 3d53015-10-2424cba3f81fead109b5-8.jpg&s3=53015-10-f7035bafed0a41931dfe1913d9f93885-3900x2601.jpg
“We spend a year preparing for the EXPO. Rather than each piece in the museum being a work of art, the entire venue is a huge piece of work called the EXPO. , I do everything myself. It’s also an opportunity to express my gratitude to the fans directly, so when I’m at the venue, I try to stand at the goods sales register as much as possible.Think of me as a part-time worker. (laughs)
“Expo is self-responsible in terms of funding, so there are some difficulties, but that means that I can exhibit freely without anyone restricting my expression. You may be surprised by this, but just like the pavilions of various countries lined up at the World Exposition, for me EXPO is a place where I can challenge various drawers without judging my potential.”
