About Osaka Fukoku Seimei Building Space Produce Project
State of production of this year’s project
This project uses art to produce the atrium space “Fukoku Seimei no Mori”, which spans from the 2nd basement floor to the 4th floor above ground in the Osaka Fukoku Seimei Building in front of JR Osaka Station. 2D production, 3D production, space production, and the ability to demonstrate ideas and expressiveness unique to art students to attract many people.
This is a popular project among current students. This is the 8th year of the practical curriculum, which is taught by creators who are active at the forefront and teaches everything from planning to production and exhibition. Every year, in the summer, we create a “huge mural” and in the winter, we create a “three-dimensional object”.
Exhibited work “Gift feeling” ＠UMEDA MEETS HEART
The production process of “Gift Feelings”
Osaka Umeda’s winter event “UMEDA MEETS HEART” will be held from December 1st (Thursday) to 25th (Sunday). With the slogan “Let’s give a heart. From Umeda to the future.” Based on one of this year’s event concepts, “feelings of caring for someone important”, this winter we created a bouquet of objects with the theme of “giving a bouquet to someone important.” The name of the work is “Gift feeling”. For those who see it, we hope that it will be an opportunity to think about the important people again.
About the theme of the exhibited work “The feeling of giving” (from a student) Theme: “Gift a bouquet to someone important to you.”
We focused on one of the event concepts of UMEDA MEETS HEART, “feelings of caring for someone important”. When you think of someone important to you, the first thing that comes to mind is “feelings of gratitude.”
From there, I focused on the behavior of “giving a bouquet”, which is one of the ways to convey gratitude. Thank you to the teachers and seniors who took care of us on Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. At the time of entrance and graduation, on birthdays, as celebrations and greetings.
No matter when or at what timing, you should always think of the recipient when choosing flowers. The act of “giving a bouquet” is only possible when there is a partner, and that action is filled with “feelings for others” and “kindness”.
I want to make the space of Fukoku Seimei-no-Mori a warm and welcoming space for those who see this work to become an opportunity to think about their loved ones again.

It is the largest comprehensive art university in Japan, consisting of 13 departments and 23 courses. Through art, we are cultivating the necessary power in society.
With the educational goal of creating an “art-based country” where students who study art can change society, we promote art education that emphasizes the relationship between “society and art” in our commuting courses. There are more than 100 “Social Implementation Projects” every year, in which students solve problems faced by companies and local governments with the power of art and design.
