Entry Co., Ltd.
70% reduction in turnover rate with “home visits”! The president himself visits the parents’ homes of new employees to deepen their understanding by listening to the individuality, personality, and background of the employees
The president himself presents his corporate philosophy and vision, and his family is also an entry fan!
Entry Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Jun Teramoto, hereinafter referred to as entry), President Teramoto himself visits the parents’ homes of new employees, conveys the corporate philosophy and vision to the families, and deepens understanding by listening to the individuality, personality, and backbone of employees and leaving the company. Since 2017, we have been working to reduce the rate. As a result of this initiative, the turnover rate of new employees has decreased by about 70%, from about 60% in 2015 to about 14% in 2017.
In 2020 and 2021, due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, interviews were conducted online, but from 2022, visits will resume. This year, we traveled all over the country, from Hokkaido in the east to Okinawa in the west, and directly conveyed our passion, such as our corporate philosophy and vision for the future, to parents.
■ Background and process of implementation
As our business expanded and grew, we were facing a high turnover rate due to overtime problems.
What I came up with was the “home visits for new employees,” which was an opportunity to make Teramoto’s name known to the temporary staffing industry. In order to understand what employees think and what they want, Teramoto himself visits the parents’ homes of new employees to meet their families. In addition to understanding the new employees, Teramoto directly communicated to the family the background to the establishment of the company, the purpose of the business, and the outlook, etc. It started with a completely new idea of let’s have them become a family.
Understanding the individuality, personality, and backbone of employees is useful for subsequent human resource training, and through this initiative, the turnover rate of new employees has decreased by about 70%, and compared to about 60% in 2015, in 2017 about 14%.
■ Comments from parents of new employees who joined the company in 2010 We have received comments such as, “I was able to understand the details of the child’s work” and “I was able to understand the details of the child’s work.”
[Parents of Y/M, who joined the company after 22]
It is a rare opportunity to meet and talk with the president of the company where my daughter works, and it was a very valuable and grateful experience for us. Mr. Teramoto carefully explained the process leading up to the establishment of the company, the purpose and outlook of the business, and the reasons for conducting home visits for each new employee like this time. , I was happy that my daughter was able to join Entry.
[Parents of M.K., who joined the company after 22]
Through President Teramoto’s talk, I was able to gain a deeper understanding of the nature of my work, which had been vague until now. I could also feel the enthusiasm of President Teramoto for his work.
As a parent, I am relieved to know that not only the employees but also the employees’ families are watching over the growth of the company.
I am very happy that my son appreciates my hard work. We are looking forward to hearing from you.
