GIV Co., Ltd. has developed a disaster-response laundromat that can be used as an emergency evacuation site in the event of a disaster. In the unlikely event that a disaster occurs, it is said that it is important for self-help, mutual assistance, and public assistance to improve their disaster response capabilities and work together in order to minimize the damage.
In order to strengthen “self-help” to protect oneself, “mutual help” to help each other in the community and people close to each other, and “public help” to mean public support, we will work together with the government and the community to We have signed a disaster agreement to raise awareness of disaster prevention.
In recent years, disasters caused by heavy rains have occurred in various places, and large-scale power outages have also occurred. In the event of a power outage due to such a disaster, it is difficult to secure a power supply, and we are forced to live in anxiety until the restoration. At such times, having a place to secure a power supply can give victims peace of mind, and at the same time, being able to eat hot food can warm their bodies and minds.
Under this agreement, in the event of a disaster in Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture, G.I.B. will provide LP gas and a simple generator installed at the Blue Sky Laundry Mum Imaizumi store, as well as a large rice cooker that can serve 120 people. As a result, in the event of an emergency, we will strive to provide disaster support to victims as a temporary evacuation center.

The disaster-response laundry is equipped with LP gas cylinders that can store 3 days’ worth of LP gas and equipment that can be connected to a portable generator as “standard specifications”. Portable generators are designed to generate electricity using gas, and can be used to charge mobile phones. In addition, we will install gas stoves and gas rice cookers in our stores, making it possible to provide meals for disaster victims. Due to the recent social situation, it is necessary to disperse evacuation to avoid the three Cs, and coin laundry can be used as a “temporary shelter”.

With the opening of the disaster-response Laundry Mum Imaizumi store on February 15, 2021, it is predicted that 70 to 80% of Nankai Trough earthquakes will occur within 30 years in this area. Based on this point of view, I proposed to the Chanokidaira Neighborhood Association that a disaster-response laundromat would be a facility where disaster victims can spend their time comfortably in the event of a disaster.

Currently, 85 out of 202 stores nationwide are equipped with disaster response stores. While aiming to open 500 stores nationwide, the policy is to open new stores as disaster-ready stores as much as possible.
Blue Sky Laundry currently has disaster agreements with 16
municipalities and 11 community associations, including the
Chanokidaira Neighborhood Association this time, and will continue to provide disaster victims with peace of mind and comfort in various areas in the future. We would like to conclude disaster agreements with local governments and community associations so that we can spend time here.
