General Incorporated Association Human Capital Management Promotion Association Established the Human Capital Management Promotion Association to promote the practice of “human capital management” in Japan
-Holding conferences and awards to spread the promotion of human capital management to increase corporate value in response to changes in the external environment-
General Incorporated Association Human Capital Management Promotion Association (location: 7-4-4 Roppongi, Minato-ku, Tokyo;
representative directors: Himiki Nozawa, Yuko Sasaki, Daisuke Matsubayashi; hereinafter referred to as the Association for Human Capital Management Promotion) was established on October 17, 2017, in order to research and disseminate a new management style = “Human Capital Management”, which considers the knowledge and skills possessed by the company as “capital” and leads to the sustainable improvement of corporate value.
Background of establishment
In 2018, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) announced ISO30414, the first international standard specializing in the disclosure of information on human capital in companies and organizations, which is an international standard guideline for human capital reporting. Rules for disclosing detailed human capital information covering 58 items in 11 areas of human resource management were enacted in guidelines for disclosure of information on human capital to internal and external stakeholders. Advanced initiatives related to human capital management are being carried out, such as the Commission (SEC) requiring listed companies to disclose information on human capital.
In Japan, in 2020, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry announced the “Research Group Report on Sustainable Corporate Value Improvement and Human Capital,” commonly known as the “Human Resources version of the Ito Report.” It was shown that the attention of human capital management has increased.
As part of efforts to realize the “new capitalism” advocated by the Kishida Cabinet, the policy is to require all listed companies to disclose “human capital information” from fiscal 2023. In other words, managers and practitioners of listed companies, affiliated companies, and companies preparing to list are preparing to improve their corporate value based on the disclosure rules “Guidelines for Visualizing Human Capital” announced by the Cabinet Secretariat at the end of August 2022. I will go.
However, in Japan, there is a lack of practical examples of human capital management, and each company is fumbling for preparations. This organization was established to disseminate information and further spread human capital management.
The Human Capital Management Promotion Association will support the spread of human capital management by picking up on-site issues and seeking solutions. In addition, in cooperation with the government and companies, we will work on activities to collect and disseminate information on various initiatives of companies.
