Evilly Co., Ltd. We conducted a survey on video trends. We use our kamui tracker for the survey.
November is approaching the end of the year. It’s about time to clean up, tidy up, and put things in order. Videos on cleaning, storage, and life hacks are also posted on YouTube. This time, we conducted a survey on YouTube trends related to cleaning, storage, and life hacks. This survey uses data collected independently by kamui tracker to measure changes in the number of related videos, the number of views of videos containing specific keywords on YouTube, and the number of times words appear in titles.
Using these, we investigated trends in cleaning and life hack videos on YouTube from 2016 to the present.
As a result of the survey, it was found that interest and attention to cleaning and life hacks are increasing. We also found that popular content related to the surveyed keywords has a tendency unique to YouTube.

Figure 1) Changes in the number of video submissions for each keyword As you can see from Figure 1, the number of videos related to the keywords “cleaning”, “general cleaning”, “tidying up”, “elimination”, “storage”, and “life hack” was posted in 2018, before the corona pandemic. ~The number of posts has increased rapidly until 2020 due to the corona crisis, and the number of posts has continued to rise since then.
As I will explain later in the trend research by keyword, YouTube has a lot of how-to videos on how to clean things around you and how to make your life better, rather than introducing special cleaning items. understood. On the other hand, regarding cleaning items, we found that there are many videos that introduce cleaning methods and storage techniques that make good use of 100-yen goods.
Due to the large amount of information that can be obtained at once from videos, it is thought that viewers are more interested in how-tos than simply introducing items.

As for the videos on “cleaning” and “cleaning up”, we found that many how-to videos about cleaning around water such as kitchens, toilets, and baths are very popular.
On the other hand, as you can see in Figure 2, many VTuber-related keywords (Hololive, holox, Kuroe, etc.) were extracted from videos related to “cleaning”. It is thought that this is greatly influenced by the content of “ear cleaning” in VTuber videos.

Also, as for the content, there were many things that showed storage techniques in the “room tour” project. There was also a video showing “storage” as one element of building a house.
From these results, it is thought that viewers have a need for how convenient storage can be done with “things that are readily available”.
Videos related to “life hacks” are often short videos

The fact that he spares no time to acquire knowledge and information is also reflected in the length of the video as a “life hack”. There were also videos introducing life hacks related to cooking and eating.
Also, the “123GO!” series channel is popular for life hacks. We have multiple channels depending on the theme such as food. Although there are some practical ones, it is a series channel with many videos with strong entertainment elements.
