Kansai Paint Co., Ltd.
Topcoat paint with excellent heat-shielding performance
“Heat-shielding Retan ECO” has been registered in the New Technology Information System (NETIS) of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
Kansai Paint Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Osaka, President: Kunishi Mohri, hereinafter referred to as “Kansai Paint”) is a topcoat with a heat-shielding function that has excellent solar reflectivity, which we launched in 2020. We are pleased to inform you that the paint “Heat Shielding Retan ECO” has been registered with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism’s NETIS (New Technology Information System).
In the market for ready-mixed concrete (concrete before hardening, hereinafter referred to as “ready-mixed concrete”), the temperature of the ready-mixed concrete in the drum of the agitator truck (mixer truck) rises due to sunlight while it is transported to the
construction site by the agitator truck (mixer truck). There was the challenge of going up and down in quality. By coating the drum part of the ready-mixed concrete agitator truck with heat-shielding resin ECO, it is possible to reduce the temperature rise of ready-mixed concrete during transportation due to sunlight by approximately 70% compared to conventional urethane paint, thereby reducing quality deterioration of ready-mixed concrete. I can do it. This effect has been recognized, and registration with NETIS has been realized.
“Heat barrier resin ECO” was developed and put on the market in 2020, and has received many achievements due to its excellent heat barrier performance. Dispersion technology* that enables coating with high pigment concentration and high solid content significantly improves opacity, and exhibits a large heat shielding effect with the same number of coatings as conventional paints. In addition, it is also a paint that considers the health and safety of workers and is not subject to the Regulations for Preventing Hazards from Specified Chemical Substances.
* Dispersion technology: Technology that stabilizes the state by making pigments, fillers, etc. fine particles and suspending them in a solvent or resin solution
NETIS is a database system developed by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism for the purpose of sharing and providing information on new technologies related to public works. Through this NETIS registration, we aim to spread the use of “Heat Shield ECO” more widely and further improve productivity and safety in concrete construction.
