Konaka Co., Ltd. celebrated its 70th anniversary!
– New initiatives for SDGs and CSR –
Thanks to you, Konaka Co., Ltd. (Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, President and CEO: Kensuke Konaka) celebrated its 70th anniversary in September 2022.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all of our stakeholders, including our customers, who have supported our development.
Under the slogan “Everything starts with quality”, we would like to continue our business by creating valuable products and contributing to society.
Taking advantage of the 70th anniversary, we will actively work on SDGs and CSR and start various activities.

5) Installation of a quick charging system for EVs in the Konaka parking lot 1) The 70th anniversary logo mark by an artist affiliated with Paralym Art As the first project to convey our gratitude, we launched a 70th anniversary project centered on volunteer members within the company and established a commemorative logo mark.
As part of our CSR activities, we asked an artist belonging to Paralym Art (https://paralymart.or.jp/about/), the Organization for the Promotion of Independence for Persons with Disabilities, to create a logo. It was designed by Honoka Hanamori.
Paralym Art is a general incorporated association for promoting independence of persons with disabilities, whose mission is to promote the social participation and economic independence of people with disabilities with the goal of “creating a world where people with disabilities can fulfill their dreams through art.”
* What is Paralym Art (General Incorporated Association Independence Promotion Organization for Persons with Disabilities)?
A general incorporated association whose mission is to promote the social participation and economic independence of people with disabilities with the aim of “creating a world where people with disabilities can fulfill their dreams through art.” Organization for the Promotion of Independence for Persons with Disabilities, which provides companies and individuals with artworks by people with disabilities and pays creator fees. The main purpose is to support people with disabilities who are unable to participate in society and suffer financially, and promotes social participation and economic independence of people with disabilities through art. Artist registration is free, and as of July 2022, 743 people have been registered. In addition to promoting independence support for people with disabilities, we continue to create places where they can demonstrate their talents and challenge themselves.

Born in Hokkaido. Focusing on comic illustrations, realism,
abstraction, logo design, calligraphy, etc., he creates works with various art materials such as oil pastel, digital, transparent watercolor, calligraphy, and alcohol ink.
2) Child development support school “Coper Plus” opened in Konaka store! Operated by Konaka Enterprise Co., Ltd., a 100% owned subsidiary, Konaka opened a child development support school “Coper Plus https://copelplus.copel.co.jp/ in Konaka” in Konaka stores, starting with the Oyumino store. *What is Coper Plus?
Copel Co., Ltd. (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, CEO Nobuyuki Otsubo) is a rehabilitation and child development support school based on the Child Welfare Act, which opens about 280 schools nationwide. Targeting children aged 0 to 6 years old (pre-school), we aim to bring out the potential of children through an approach that nurtures their brains and minds, and to bring out their full potential.
In addition, Coper’s early childhood education places the highest value on “brilliance in children’s eyes.” Each 50-minute lesson uses a large number of different teaching materials, and the specialist instructor develops a “show-like lesson” that keeps the child’s eyes shining, and nurtures the logical brain and the emotional brain in a well-balanced manner.
Konaka Enterprises Co., Ltd. has opened “Kids Duo”, an English after-school nursery school, and “Kids Duo International”, a bilingual kindergarten.
3) Collaboration T-shirts with AOH “Chocolab”, a general incorporated association of welfare offices!
With the artists of “Chocolab https://chocolabo-group.com/” operated by AOH, a welfare office that manufactures and sells sweets such as chocolate confectionery for the purpose of supporting the employment of people with disabilities. Collaboration T-shirts will be on sale at our store. Part of the sales of the collaboration T-shirts will be returned to the development of artists with disabilities.
* What is AOH “Chocolab”?
Chocolab, the first chocolate workshop in Japan as a welfare office, was born in Yokohama in 2012. At Chocolab, about 40 people with disability certificates are working hard every day to manufacture and sell chocolate confectionery while making the most of their strengths. Sweets made by hand are made from carefully selected ingredients, and each one is a sweet that reveals the individuality of the maker. In addition, we respect all people equally and contribute to society by creating a system that allows all involved people to feel rich both physically and spiritually.
4) Recycled wool “RE:NEWOOL” suits and coats on sale
Applying the know-how we have accumulated over many years in the development of wool materials, we have developed a yarn that is strong enough to withstand suit and coat fabrics, using recycled wool that can be taken from clothes such as knits and sweaters. I completed it. Suits and coats using “RE: NEWOOL” will be on sale from Thursday, November 10th. 5) Equipped with a quick charging system for EVs in the Konaka parking lot In line with the spread of eco-friendly EVs (electric vehicles), we will install a quick charging system for EVs in some Konaka parking lots from the spring of 2023 so that EV drivers can easily charge their vehicles while shopping.
In the event of a disaster, we will supply the system free of charge to support victims.
Aiming to be a company that continues to create new value beyond its 70th anniversary, Konaka Co., Ltd. will continue to make efforts to make shopping even more enjoyable by improving customer convenience and customer service.
