Kura Master judges at the 2022 jury meeting
There are various competitions for Japanese sake around the world, but Kura Master focuses on the “compatibility of food and drink”, which is also part of the historical food culture of France. Through competitions, tastings, and various events, we create opportunities to experience the marriage of food and drinks, and we are also conscious of promoting sake, authentic shochu, and awamori to the European market, including France. increase. In addition, in order to conduct fair and impartial judging, sommeliers and other judges have been conducting sake culture training trips every year since 2017 with the aim of learning deeply about sake, authentic shochu, and awamori, and gaining the knowledge to properly communicate. . In these study trips, we visit award-winning breweries and deepen our knowledge of the history and food culture of various parts of Japan through experiences such as sake brewing, as well as a variety of programs such as exchange meetings with local food and beverage industry officials. In particular, since the corona crisis, we have created a YouTube program “Le gout du Japon” that enlightens the marriage of food and sake, and monthly a newsletter “Kura Master Gazette” that summarizes industry information on sake, authentic shochu, and awamori. It has been distributed to 600 people, accelerating the active transmission of information. In addition, we also hold networking events and seminars for people involved in food and drink, people from each prefecture and organizations, and general consumers.
