[NETIS registration] Telemetry using Leica Geosystems’ Imaging Total Station ~Anytime, anywhere, remote surveying can be done using the Internet~
[Tokyo, November 17, 2022] Leica Geosystems Corporation (head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Takanori Hibi), a leader in the measurement technology industry under the umbrella of Hexagon, today announced the launch of a new technology, the Imaging Total Station. NETIS registration has been completed for “Remote Surveying Used”. [Image 1

Leica Geosystems has traditionally proposed improvements in work efficiency through one-man surveying. Improving work efficiency in one-man surveying is a very effective workflow and has also led to increased productivity. Challenges still remained. Therefore, Leica Geosystems has completed NETIS registration as a new technology, a total station equipped with an imaging function (Leica Nova MS60, Leica Viva TS16 I, Leica Nova TS60 I, Leica Nova TM60 I), and a versatile station suitable for surveying. We propose a new remote surveying using the controller Leica CS30 (hereafter, CS30) with high resolution.
The remote surveying technology proposed this time makes it possible for surveying engineers to operate surveying instruments remotely via the Internet and carry out surveying work without going directly to the site. A surveyor will install the equipment at the site, and the equipment will be removed after the remote survey is completed. This is expected to reduce the cost of surveying work.

When the devices (imaging total station and CS30) are installed at the work site and the imaging total station is controlled by CS30, the video data of the total station is displayed on CS30. From this state, connect to the Internet from CS30. When you tap the screen of CS30, the instrument automatically turns in the tapped direction.
2. Telemetry work from a distance

A surveyor in the office accesses the CS30 via the Internet, points the instrument at the survey point, and performs surveying while viewing the video image of the total station equipped with an imaging function. Using the CS30 screen displayed on a PC in the office, it is possible to perform the same work as on-site.
