(Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President: Shinichi Hirose, hereinafter “Tokio Marine Nichido”) will jointly develop a service that utilizes LINE official accounts for insurance agents and will start providing it from January 2023. With this service, users can conduct chat consultations and insurance procedures on the insurance agent’s LINE official account in a secure environment.

1. Background leading to service provision
In April 2022, the revised Act on the Protection of Personal Information came into effect, and companies are being held more responsible for confidentiality of information. Since insurance agents handle sensitive privacy information, they have been required to provide services online in a secure environment.
In response to this, in order to realize chat communication that users can comfortably use with a high level of information security, Micoworks will use LINE official accounts for insurance agents in cooperation with Tokio Marine & Nichido in cooperation with SoftBank Corp. 2. Service overview

With this service, users can complete communication with insurance agents within the LINE app without transitioning to another chat service. Insurance agents can send URLs necessary for insurance procedures and service use on LINE official accounts, which can be expected to improve user convenience.
This service is optimized for use by insurance agents. For example, by switching the icon and display name for each salesperson, customers can recognize who is messaging them at the insurance agency. In addition, interactions are visualized within the agency, and managers and office personnel can follow up on the responses of sales representatives.

3. Specific usage scene
(1) Accident reporting/consultation
You can exchange accident reports and consultations with insurance agents on LINE official accounts. You can send and receive images and electronic files in a secure environment while maintaining the ease of use of LINE.
(2) Online interview via LINE (scheduled to be offered within 2023) Simply by tapping the URL sent from the LINE official account, you can easily make a video call with the insurance agency representative online.
(3) Renewal information and product information
You will receive a contract expiration notice from your LINE official account. Depending on the contract, you can proceed to the renewal procedure by tapping the sent URL. You can also receive important communications regarding contracts and offers of products and services that fit your individual needs.
(4) Virtual field express (to be provided within 2023)
When an accident occurs, it is possible to immediately consult with an insurance agency representative face-to-face over a video call. By taking a picture of the situation at the scene with a camera, it is possible to proceed with the accident response smoothly.
(5) Automatic response after hours
Automatically guides you on how to report accidents and change contract details even outside of the insurance agency’s business hours. In addition, by sending a request in advance, it is possible to respond smoothly after business hours start.
4. Future outlook
At initial release in January 2023, it will be available to select insurance agents.
As for future prospects, we will expand information linkage with the insurance agency system, such as a function that automatically records messages on the LINE official account as a response history. Through the provision of this service, Micoworks will promote DX of communication in the insurance industry.
