The first Mt. Fuji sightseeing flight tour for general customers using sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) will be on sale from November 29th (Tuesday)

Mt. Fuji Shizuoka Airport Co., Ltd. (Makinohara City, Shizuoka Prefecture), a member of the Mitsubishi Estate Group, has collaborated with Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd. (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) to launch the “Mt. Fuji Shizuoka Airport Green Flight & Airport As the first step, the first Mt. Fuji sightseeing flight tour for general customers using sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) “Susteo” (hereafter, SAF “Susteo”) of Euglena Co., Ltd. (Minato-ku, Tokyo) will be held next year. It will be implemented in early spring. Sales of this tour will begin on November 29 (Tuesday) on the official website of the organizer, Daitetsu Advance Co., Ltd.
“Mt.Fuji Shizuoka Airport Green Flight & Airport” is a general term for various initiatives aimed at reducing CO2 emissions at Mt.Fuji Shizuoka Airport as an airport. We will work from various perspectives in collaboration with stakeholders such as people, tourism operators, etc.
As the first step, it will be part of the aviation fuel for Mt. Fuji sightseeing flight tours for general customers, which has been jointly commercialized with Mt. Fuji Shizuoka Airport Co., Ltd., Fuji Dream Airlines Co., Ltd. (FDA), and Oigawa Railway Group since 2018. , we will adopt SAF “Susteo” for the first time this time.
This tour is a popular product using Mt. Fuji Shizuoka Airport that has been enjoyed by a total of about 3,300 customers. As a first step toward the realization of “sustainable tourism,” we aim to provide a sustainable supply of eco-friendly travel products while asking customers to partially bear* the additional costs of using SAF. * We also utilize subsidies from the Japan Tourism Agency and support from Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd.
Fuji Shizuoka Airport will continue to make efforts to reduce CO2 in the aviation, airport, and tourism fields through various initiatives, so please look forward to it.

〇Overview of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and SAF Susteo
“SAF” stands for Sustainable Aviation Fuel.
“Susteo” is SAF (bio jet fuel) and next-generation biodiesel fuel manufactured and sold by Euglena, and does not cause problems such as competition with food such as used cooking oil or oil extracted from microalgae Euglena and deforestation. Manufactured using highly sustainable biomass as raw material.
“Susteo” emits CO2 during the fuel combustion stage, but both plants, which are the raw materials for used cooking oil, and microalgae Euglena absorb CO2 through photosynthesis during the growth process, so fuel is used. It is expected to contribute to the realization of carbon neutrality, in which CO2 emissions are practically plus or minus zero.
