When asked about the situations in which they drink instant miso soup (multiple answers allowed), 43.4% of the drinkers answered “dinner at home”, and 20% each answered “lunch at home” and “breakfast at home”. 24.1% answered, “When making miso soup is troublesome or when you don’t have time to make it.”
“Breakfast at home” is the most common among people who drink instant miso soup every day. Among those who drink 4-5 times a week, the ratio of “when eating at work or school” is high.

As for the manufacturers of instant miso soup that they often buy (multiple answers allowed), Nagatanien and Marukome account for around 30% of drinkers, while Asahi Group Foods (Amano Foods) and Hanamaruki account for around 20%. 18.2% answered “not decided”.
The ratio of “Marukome” is high in the Tohoku region, and “Ichibiki” is high in the Chubu region.
Important points when choosing instant miso soup
The most important points when choosing instant miso soup (multiple answers allowed) were “type of ingredients”, “flavor and type of miso”, and “price”, which accounted for nearly 60% of each purchaser. “Types of ingredients” and “types such as raw miso, powder,
