Carmate Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Toshima-ku, Tokyo) will release the smartphone holder “Smart Holder Suction Cup SS” series (3 types, 4 product numbers in total) for in-car smartphone holders that prevent them from falling off due to weakened suction power on November 21st. This is the industry’s first* smartphone holder that prevents the product from falling off. Please see below for details.

Smaller suction cups for easier and safer installation
Demand for car smartphone holders is increasing as opportunities to use smartphones in cars, such as using navigation apps and listening to music, have increased. Among them, the suction cup attachment type is doing well, but in recent years, the flat surface of the dashboard of the car has decreased, and it tends to be difficult to attach a large suction cup. This product has a 18% smaller suction cup diameter (compared to our previous product), increasing the versatility of installation. By attaching a protrusion to the center of the plate where the suction cup is installed, the suction cup can be attached without slipping, and when the suction cup is loosened, this protrusion prevents it from falling off (patent pending).

New mechanism and features from “Smart Holder Sucker SS”
・Space-saving installation with suction cups and plates 18% smaller (compared to conventional models)
Due to the compact suction cup, it can be attached to dashboards that could not be attached due to the narrow flat surface (bottom image: plate size comparison)

・ Prevents the holder from falling off with the “double lock mechanism” of “suction cup + ball joint” [patent pending]
By joining the suction cup to the ball joint of the plate, even a compact suction cup can be firmly attached. Even if the suction cup comes off due to repeated attachment and detachment or deterioration due to aging, the ball joint prevents the holder from falling (bottom image: left).
・The orientation of the holder can be adjusted without removing the suction cup [Patent pending]
The holder can be rotated 150 degrees with the suction cup attached. Since the chances of attaching and detaching the suction cup are reduced, it prevents the adsorption surface from deteriorating (bottom image: right, SA31 in the figure)

Features from conventional products
・You can place your smartphone in a convenient position.
By changing the arm of the holder, it is possible to select a “low position” where the smartphone does not block the view while driving or a “regular position” where the viewpoint does not move much (both images are SA33).

・The angle and direction of the holder can be adjusted.
The holder can be flexibly adjusted up, down, left and right by 55 degrees. [Image 6
・Compatible with various smartphones. Easy hold with one hand There are two types of holding methods: “Wing Catch”, which closes the wings when the smartphone is placed, and “Quick Hold”, which allows you to hold the smartphone by simply pressing it against it. “Quick Hold” can also be used with the smartphone in landscape orientation (see the figure below)

・Can be held while charging
The shape of the holder does not interfere with the charging cable, so even a smartphone with a charging terminal in the center can be charged while holding it.
