11/11 is Socks Day RENFRO, a top-class American sock maker, will hold a pop-up to commemorate the 10th anniversary of its arrival in Japan! Proposing play with the new brand “HOiSUM”!

Dear Press, November 9, 2022
Renfro Japan Co., Ltd.
Renfro Japan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, Director and Branch Manager: Ryota Takahashi, hereinafter referred to as RENFRO), the Japanese subsidiary of one of the largest sock
manufacturing and sales companies in the United States, celebrated its 10th anniversary in Shibuya, Tokyo. At the select shop “DENIS” in MIYASHITA PARK, we will hold a pop-up shop of the new brand “HOiSUM” which debuted in September this year.

10th anniversary x 10th anniversary
It’s been 10 years since RENFRO landed in Japan. While expanding our business globally, we have developed socks that meet the needs and trends of Japan.
They have a strong commitment to manufacturing, such as manufacturing in Japan and using domestic materials, and create new value for socks instead of just following the seasons and trends. Until now, socks were often treated as a “bonus” for coordination, but we have made efforts to establish them as a single fashion item.
To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the founding of our Japanese subsidiary, we chose the location of the pop-up shop “DENIS”, a select shop in Shibuya, Tokyo. DENIS’s “uncompromising stance on
manufacturing” is in common with Renfro’s way of thinking, which is not bound by conventions and concepts.
The impetus for this pop-up shop was the meeting between DENIS representative Yuji Kamimura and RENFRO president Ryota Takahashi. Feeling that each other’s commitment and sense lead to each other, the two hit it off from the moment they met.
We are particular about raw materials, not only organic, but also products that are high quality because they are used every day, universal designs that are not influenced by trends, and products that make full use of Japanese craftsmanship. Two brands that are common to both The two people who have lived in the same era also share a sense of playfulness, so they decided to hold a pop-up shop.
11/11 is socks day
11/11 is socks day. On this day, which is also called Pairs Day, DENIS and RENFRO will be paired up, and we would like you to take an interest in socks, empathize with the creation of socks, and enjoy them as fashion.

What is the original brand “HOiSUM”?
A coined word that combines “Hoi”, which is used in greetings in various countries, and “Sum”, which means “heart” in the Cantonese language (Etsugo*).
We want to be a brand that offers heartwarming everyday life regardless of nationality, sexuality, or age. We handle miscellaneous goods and accessories centered on socks, and plan to collaborate with brands that are not bound by the genre of each country.
We value the love of the people who use our products, the passion of the people who make them, and the “connection” with the people we interact with.
Introducing some products
The first theme for the brand debut is “LOVE!! Hong Kong”.
Glittering neon signboards remind me of a nostalgic townscape, mahjong tiles that I saw being sold everywhere in the back alleys, Hong Kong numerals that are different from Chinese characters, auspicious goldfish, and tea utensils that make you want to eat dim sum. It is a lineup packed with embroidery designs and the image of Hong Kong. [Image 4d76599-9-7a8fb7a17537734e9068-4.jpg&s3=76599-9-d3c6c75cbb8eeaf3ac8591580650d5a-900x250.jpg

A GROOMING & LIFESTYLE brand for men from Tokyo.
Yuji Kamimura, the inventor and founder of the DENIS brand, started his career as a professional hairdresser in 19XX. DENIS MADE IN TOKYO was born in 2012 with the passion of “I want to.”
With an “uncompromising stance on manufacturing” as the starting point, high-quality products using plant-based raw materials that are powerful in themselves bring back the self-cleaning and repairing abilities inherent in humans.
